Lengthy injury report for tomorrow's game against OKC:

Naji Marshall (non-COVID illness), Larry Nance Jr. (right shoulder soreness) questionable

Brandon Ingram (left toe) doubtful

CJ McCollum (health and safety protocols) out

It's very interesting to see Naji questionable with "non-COVID illness." It's certainly possible that he actually does have COVID and got it from CJ, but that he simply hasn't tested positive yet.

Zion is going HAM this game. I can see a 15-20 fg game with close to 40 pts

frick

SGA is averaging 32 ppg this year. We will be missing at least 40 ppg with CJ and BI out. I hope someone steps up and help Zion out.

Playing with Covid is a big issue but no one would care if it was the flu!

Playing with bronchitis/pneumonia would be more akin to playing with Covid as they’re respiratory illnesses. Flu doesn’t attack your respiratory system as bad, therefore not the same.

gotta love aaron nelson. BI bangs his lil toe and now he’s going to be out for the next 6 weeks.

Are two negative tests for Bronchitis required before playing again?

Do you "gotta love" the Grizzlies trainer too? There's a 3rd player with a toe issue that will be out multiple weeks too, CALL OUT ALL TRAINERS!!!

Also funny that I called just about word for word that these absurd posts where coming.

I would just like to see us be as intentional with Zion running the offense as OKC is with SGA.

We did that 2 seasons ago for 2 months, Point Zion, and the result at the time was that 2 month offense was not just the best offense in the NBA, but the equivalent of the best offense in the history of the NBA. With no BI/CJ, I can't see any reason that everything revolves around Zion tonight.

If Zion doesn't take at least 20 shots tonight, I'll be really pissed. I was really disappointed that he didn't take over and impose his will in the second half when he knew BI was out for the game.

I like your overall premise. But I'm looking less so at just total shots.

I just want him initiating the offense over and over and over and over. This should be a 7+ assist night for Zion. And either 20 shots, or a shite ton of free throws or both.

If he's his normal efficient self, this should be a 32/8/8 type night.

This might be the appropriate time to start Nance so you can bring in JV and his scoring when Zion goes out

I'd agree. Won't happen but I agree. As long as they keep 1 in at all times, that would work as well.

But also:

Dyson Daniels game…these are definitely good games to see if we can somehow motivate Jax to play decent ball.

BI only played 51 games last year and honestly will probably play that many games this year. Whether you think the injuries and every game of missed time are legit or not, that just is not a good thing.
