Off the bench, he'd easily be the 1st option offensively off the bench. Would be able to replace offensive production when JV or Zion sits (something nance cannot do).

Don't forget that usually, one of Zion, CJ, or BI was always on the court. Scoring was never an issue in any lineup. Now, BI out, CJ struggling...its a wonder they went on that streak. But, generally, being a scoring option off the bench isn't an issue. Having another guy who can do Lance Jr things when JV is a bad matchup is probably more importan.

But we can't overreact to last night. Nothing was falling, and the 3s have been an issue for a few games. Trey has disappeared. The NBA is a game of runs. Wins...Losses. Gott keep that latter to a minimum.

This board has always had a weird obsession with Turner. What do you give up to get Turner? Because I'm not in favor of giving up from the cupboard.

I think we're 7th in rebounding right now. And basically the vast bulk of that can be attributed to how strong JVal has rebounded this season.

I don't think it's crazy to think we fall to a bottom 10 if not bottom 5 rebounding team if Zion/Turner are our starting 4 and 5.

I will tell you this, I do wish Zion would get more involved in offensive rebounding. He got a couple last night but I've seen him standing around, not trying to box out. I think he can make more of an effort sometimes.

Jonas normally is a great rebounder but he got owned the last two games.

I said it in preseason that he and CJ looked off and old. Really hoping that's not a thing.

I would be okay with Jonas and a lottery protected first, which is the hypothetical that Lowe threw out the other day. For the sake of clarity he said he wouldn’t do it, but do we really need to get to the playoffs and have JV exploited again to see that we need something different at Center?

Rebounding would be a concern, but we do have another good rebounder who should get more PT as the year goes on (Dyson).

I've always said that I think eventually the move to really propel this team forward is moving Jonas out for a center that better fits what's needed, but I don't think Turner is that guy. Especially if you're talking playoffs, Turner has always been a very "meh" player in the playoffs. I don't think it's even arguable that Jonas has been the better player in the playoffs, either.

Last night was rough, but Jval was a monster on the boards in the 2nd Phoenix game. 10 boards in 17 minutes.

Definitely looks off. There's nothing I've seen to suggest he looks old, especially given how much his defense has picked up this season.

I don't think that Turner is a perfect fit, but I do think he's the best fit that is available. I tend to think that it may be a waste of time to sit around and wait for the perfect fit to become available because that player may not exist, or may never become available.

Jonas has basically had 3 bad playoff games, the 1st 3 last season.

People say he's unplayable but he's had a positive On/Off in 4 of his 5 previous postseasons, so is he?

1st 3 playoff games last season: 11ppg, 16 rebounds per game, but 34% from the field

Last 3 playoff games last season: 18 & 12 on 64% from the field

I know Ayton went off but I think my point still stands, awful in 1st 3 games. And even if Ayton was playing well, he held his own in the last 3 games.

I'm not very concerned about this team's offensive production from the center position. We should have enough offensive production from our guards and wings. We need someone who can protect the rim and not be a complete liability when put in pick n roll situations, IMO.

ETA: how many points did JV give up in those 3 games? I know Ayton shot 74% in those games, but how many other points were given up when Chris Paul was cooking Jonas in pick n roll situations?
