I hope we don’t stretch Asik. He’d be a great trade chip next February.

If he isn't gone by this February, I would be really surprised.
But I agree, you will see several articles next February talking about how that contract is one of the most valuables chips in the league

I agree, but i just find it very hard to accomplish that given our salary situation.

Midseason dump next year with cash and a 2nd. If you can also dump Ajinca/Diallo before the season you should be able to both avoid the tax and the stretch.

I get that, but at that point, he's almost an asset that you can get something for, not someone you just want to dump for nothing.

It doesn't matter. If there's a no tax mandate you can't afford to use him as a trade asset like that anyway. If that's off the table then the next goal should be finding a way to dump him for as little cost as possible.

You don't think there's a chance you can make a trade for him with a team like Sacramento next year for maybe Bogdanvich, assuming Sac has cap space and still want to suck, and you can throw in Diallo. $3.8M in savings there. I'm sure there would be some other small contract they could throw away at that point too, to get it to $5-6M, which is what you are trying to get to by dumping him.
Hell you could do the trade today, Asik/Ajinca for Bogdanvich/Skal and you'd have some nice savings there, although i dont think one first round pick is enough to get them both, and i don't think we should be giving away 2 firsts for them.

QPon is on the Bulls. They have the rights to trade him.
How do we have the rights to trade him?
Or was a three team trade being suggested?
