He also plays every game and is the epitome of professionalism, which is likely a big deal to Joe Tsai after years of Harden, Irving, and Simmons.

Everyone dreaming of Bridges and Claxton or even DFS and Claxton needs to realize Picks and Filler is not going to get it done. The Nets just traded a superstar and Bridges is the best player they got back for him. You are going to need to trade something that at least looks like a potential star in the making.

I'm not sure if you can trade picks for that player. Would something along the lines of JV and Picks for Nurkic and Sharp or Simons work? Then trade that and picks for Claxton and Bridges or DFS.

I think the Nets would be kind of interested in Dyson to balance out future scoring champ Cam Thomas. I just don't see a way around getting what we want from the Nets without Dyson and a bunch of picks as the starting point.

I'd rather just trade for Claxton without Bridges. Keep Dyson, I don't see why he won't be as good as Bridges in a couple years. The hole at 5 is much more glaring than the need for another 3 and D wing, IMO.

I'd rather do nothing than trade for John Collins.

Phoenix underpaid, no question.

I meant on Poetel, Vanderbilt, Beasley, etc.

Stars get star prices. They were asking multiple firsts for these guys and didn’t get them.

Several teams called the Nets to gauge the potential availability of forward Mikal Bridges, league sources told HoopsHype. One of the most notable teams to call was the Memphis Grizzlies, who have been engaged in trade talks for another wing on the trade market, Toronto Raptors swingman OG Anunoby. In separate trade talks for Bridges and Anunoby, the Grizzlies have tried to entice the Nets and Raptors with several first-round picks for each player, league sources told HoopsHype.

Please do not let the grizzlies get him.

Several, not seven.

I read it as 7 twice after you said it, but knew that couldn't be the case lol.

We have better assets than Memphis, draft wise.

Question is what non-draft assets would Memphis dangle that may make the deal.

The play in has changed everything. It used to be 16-20 teams were gearing up for the playoffs at the trade deadline each year and 10-14 teams were gearing down for the lottery. Those 10-14 teams were your sellers. With the play in you now have 22-26 teams gearing up for the playoffs and much fewer sellers. So the market dynamics have changed quite a bit from just 3-4 years ago.

Couple is 2

Several for each could very well mean 7 lol

I just have a feeling we end up with Bridges or OG. Much prefer Bridges but you have to make a move

I'd prefer Bridges also, but I don't think we have to make a move, we should not overpay for the sake of making move.

If we were a legit title contender maybe, but with the KD trade and our 10 game losing streak, I just don't think we should treat this season as title or bust at this point.

I think if you can acquire Bridges and Claxton, you’d still matchup well with Phoenix with who we have

The deluge of firsts moving may hit a wall soon simply because of the Stepien rule.

A ton of teams are tapped out because their firsts are tied up for so long.

Other teams like the Thunder, Jazz, and Rockets have a ton of picks but won’t necessarily trade them.

Eventually any team which didn’t lock up all their picks for 7 years is going to be in a position to get better value for their picks.

That's fair.

We've dug ourselves a hole but if we added those 2 adn played well down the stretch, you're not wrong and that we would be a legit team come playoff time.

Seeding and how far up the ladder we can work would determine how far we could go IMO.
