Why are we already talking about trades again? Because we lost another game on a back to back while not having all our players??

Don’t worry, if we win tomorrow and look good (which could happen since we’ll, for the second time this season, have a healthy team), it will flip from we have to trade Ingram to we will be a top 4 seed in the West. I truly don’t know how some of these posters function in real life with the bi-polar tendencies.

I still believe in Scoot
I was just going for the easy joke lol.

The book on Scoot is obviously not complete.

I don't follow prospects so I have no clue why he always had comps to Westbrook and Wall and those types of uber athletic dudes. Even if you don't look at stats and just do eye test, he looks nowhere near the most athletic dude on the court each night.

If he's not that, I don't see how he reaches potential to be an elite player. He's missing too many other things.

When?

We're under .500 the past 2 seasons when BI plays without Zion. We have different definitions of "keeping it going"

The argument is this team cannot reach out max potential with BI.

Not for me. We can win the next 5,it won't change my stance nor will it refute any of the points I made.

BI is not a #2 on a title team. His best skill in his game is something he's league average at, if not below league of average, and that's scoring efficiency. Outside of scoring, he doesn't really bring much.

So if he's going to just be a scorer, he needs to do it at elite efficiency levels. We know he cannot do that. So what's left?

"Can't" or "won't" -- whichever it is.

You have succinctly made the anti-BI argument. Is he a vocal leader? Does he play defense? Does he rebound? Take charges?

It's possible that the return of Trey and CJ means that we'll see better efficiency from BI, but I doubt it's enough of a difference to change the fundamental calculus.

And that truth is that maybe BI could be the #3 option on a title team, but he can't be the #2 option. And CJ isn't the #2 guy on a title team, either. So we either need to trade for or draft/develop that guy.

But maybe this is wrong. If you had asked me before Bucks title whether Khris Middleton was good enough to be the #2 on a title team, I would have said no. Maybe the rest of our surrounding pieces are good enough (or we can make a trade for them to be good enough) that BI could be the #2 option on a title team.

Middleton doesn't try to play like the first option. Nor does he need to dominate the ball to be effective. He defends and he plays offball well. Him and Jrue were high end #3 options paired with a generational talent and high end role players like Lopez and Portis.

Even then they only had 1 championship to show for it.

BI is not a drastically better defender or rebounder than Markkanen.

Of course that’s the argument because that is the reality. If you keep BI, you are keeping a max contract on the books for another 4-5 years.

So the question really is can this roster with good health and further player development win a title, because improving the roster gets harder the day after BI signs his next contract? If the answer for the Pels is no then they should trade him.

Trade Nance, Lewis, and 4 1st round picks for Markkanen.

Both Bucks, the Lakers, and a top 5 protected pick this year.

All of those picks will be on the 20's.

Goodness. How many more young players do you want?

Time to consolidate the draft capital.

The picks have nothing to do with the fact that we can't remotely afford that, unless you you're keeping Markannan short term.

Yes you can.

Next year the Pels have a salary number of $148m.
If Nance is in the deal the number drops to $137m.

Sign Markkanen to a 4 yr. 120m deal and the cap number is lower next year than this year.

Are we prepared for Griffin choosing Ingram over Zion?

Scenario- Zion has a healthy season, puts up his offensive numbers but still bad on defense, effort and rebounding. Pels underperform in play-in/offs. Zion starts getting pouty again, makes it known he's open to a trade. Team rallies around Ingram as leader. Griffin is finally fed up with the Zion experience, fields legit offers for Zion.

Just sayin', with the way its been rumored that Griffin is tied to Ingram, and sustainable, hardworking culture--- very possible Z is the one traded in the '24 offseason, rather than BI.

Mark is not taking less than a max for his next deal.
