Isn't he a FA this summer? I guess they knew he would never re-sign so they wanted to get something, anything.
That's tough.

Pretty obvious Pels aren't going to do anything...a little disappointing but I also get it
Was hoping Miller + filler for some sort of 4/5 that can shoot

Gotta think Thompson is headed somewhere.
Houston dropped out because the money would've been to difficult to put together.
Boston maybe?

With the trade of Andre Drummond for expirings, and his likely opt-in to a $28.7m player option, or a new contract w/ Cleveland, yet another team has vaporized its 2020 space. Free agents are gonna be fiending for Bird rights or sign-and-trades this summer.

There's still time and deals are coming in fast out of nowhere right now.
I have been steadfast in saying I don't think we do anything, but there's still plenty of time.

Boston would be interesting but does he fit what they do? I guess they need rim protection...don't think the Clips would make a play for him either

do you know who initiated? I'd imagine us since we were talking to Horford in the offseason
if I told you it would be a guess. but phone calls happen all the time which is why I never mentioned it. slim chance it ever materializes

I just would avoid ever paying a Center big money in this era. Doesn't make sense for cap allocation in the Zion era.
I've been on that side of the fence forever, and i still am.
I know Horford is aging, but if you want a great lockerroom guy, he's that guy. These idiots in Philly are a bunch of knuckleheads. Horford is respected and one of the most well liked guys in the league.
Yeah he's overpaid, but the point of bringing him in was for veteran leadership, while still getting really good production from him for 2 years hopefully. That' something We all heard about in the offseason with Horford, the veteran leadership he would bring to our young team.

No, I know. Was just curious.
Still hoping we make a fringe move before the deadline. Still time but don't think anything happens.

Its really like the same few teams that are very active.

That's a large contract for Memphis, is dieing expiring this year?
Posted on 2/6/20 at 1:28 pm to Silverfoxx
Yes, so that gives them some cap space back in the offseason
