I'm sure your friend is completely non-biased at all along with the vague "other stories"

He seems like a private guy, if he did get snippy, it was probably someone invading on that.

Well, if Monty acted out towards him, damn right he is going to be biased.

I'm sure Monty is just misunderstood in all the stories that people know about him that show him in a negative light. Yeah right!

He is a good boy...always someone else's fault....sound familiar? Like you know any better.

Is it weird that I really just want to give Monty an enormous Hug and tell him I'm sorry for his loss and I have faith in him and will pray for his family ?

His faith is where it should be. That is in Jesus or Lord and Savior. He's probably a fine basketball coach, but he's a much finer man who realizes that the Lord will get he and his family through this and that one day he'll see his wife again in Heaven.

Havent posted on here in quite a while, but really wanted to comment on this.

Love this man. Absolutely wish he was still our coach. Didnt want him gone in the first place because i knew our front office would blow the hiring, ruining the momentum of a growing team.

As far as his encounters with people while in NO go:
I randomely bumped into him while in NO at a Petsmart of all places. I felt so bad to bother him, but being such a fan of his and the team's i would have kicked myself if i hadnt said hello. He could not have been more kind and gracious and took a moment to take a quick picture with me. My two cents on the matter.

Praying for everyone involved in this horrible event.

After all of the love and support he has received, I can't see him not being a head coach again next season if that's what he wants to do rather than focus on his kids.

I think majority of us here would be willing to put up another year of Monty-[new GM] if we knew it was ultimately going to be Gentry-Demps.

Then you are really going to want to keep Gentry because if he is fired Dennis Rodman will be coach and Joe Dumars the GM.

WOW....Just watched the video. That is one hell of a man with a HUGE amount of character. Very strong man. I can guarantee I couldn't have gotten through that speech without cutting some onions.

I finally brought myself to watch this and I'm glad I did. I can see why he was able to motivate undermanned teams to victory so often. That's a man of high character.
