Solid turnout!!!! Kind of suprised they got that many....glad the weather turned out ok. Should be fairly easy with the Spurs/Thunder coming up......hopefully there isn't a monsoon Saturday night.

san antonio last time was 12,400 and OKC was 14,400

Needed 88,187 over last 6.
Warriors - 13532
Orlando - 13688
Toronto - 15155
Therefore, need 15271 over last 3. Going to likely need a sellout.

I think the magic # for the Memphis game on Wednesday night is 14,000. If we can get 14,000 there, then in my (optimistic) opinion, we should be able to average 16,000 for the Spurs on Saturday night and then the Thunder.

14k is attainable imo...

For a Saturday night game against the Spurs with no other distractions (football cough cough) I would really be disappointed if this game wasn't a sell out, with a near full feel in the arena. Would be cool to get the atmosphere back we had in 07-08.

If I buy a couple cheap tickets but do not go, will that help? or do i need to actually attend the game?

This thread quite possibly contains some of the dumbest posters on the entire tigerdroppings site, and that is saying a heck of a lot.
Hornet haters, STFU and GTFO of Hornets threads.
ETA: nevermind, its all by one poster MAC4, who I nominate as the dumbest poster on tigerdroppings

Yes, it would help. Plus you could always donate the tickets to a charity if you are not gonna use them.

We need 14,932 per game for the last 5 home games in January in order to prevent the Hornets from being able to opt out of their lease with the New Orleans Arena.
Ya know, bottom line is, you're right -- as a general premise, pro basketball fans need to step up and get their butts in the seats. But it must be pointed out, the Hornets don't HAVE to leave, it's THEIR choice, it's not like they automatically have to leave New Orleans if the attendance figures aren't met, ya know what I mean? People act like this is a situation where the Hornets' hands are tied and they HAVE to leave if the attendance figures aren't met.

Meeting the benchmark adds/keeps in place a financial incentive for any owner to keep the team here (for the next two year period, at least).
Then again, some of the potential buyers are probably willing to pay that tens of millions figure if they're willing to pay hundreds of millions to purchase the team. The attendance benchmark in and of itself does not guarantee that the team will still be here.
