You still need him as a point guard in case a guy goes down. I’m not sure I trust Dyson yet come playoff time, Jose’s been there and done it. He’ll have a role the rest of the season and come through in big spots because I don’t think a lot of what he does can be replicated. Naji on the other hand, I think is very replicable with the guys we have.

Hopefully they’re just showcasing Naji for the deadline and Jose will take his minutes

Naji doesn't really make shite so this is unlikely.

I think the most likely outcome is Naji traded somewhere for a 2nd or two. But, I think that doesn't do for Jose what everyone hopes it will. I think Matt Ryan will get those minutes when he returns because his skillset perfectly compliments both Zion and BI. Plus he's not like Naji in that he's more of a connector offensively and doesn't try to overplay his role. JMO

I would love for Ryan to get involved when he comes back but i still think theres a role for Jose. He settles down the offense when it gets in a rut. He just cant be paired with Hawkins or you're way too small in the backcourt

Jose is a disrupter. Teams need disrupters even if at limited minutes . Especially in the playoffs . Ask Chris Paul.

Our need for Jose is the opposite of "especially in the playoffs"

He brings value in the regular season, you don't want him in the playoff rotation regularly.

Chris Paul kicked Jose's arse, not sure why folks remember it another way. CP3 averaged 23 and 11 on 56% from the field, and Jose did not slow Paul down. Jose shot well, but was a liability on defense. People seem to remember a hustle play here and there, which is fine. But overall, he was a liability for us, particularly on defense. And it's defense that is the reason you probably don't want him in a playoff rotation, as teams will just hunt him relentlessly.

Did we forget Paul's 14 for 14 game 6?

Jose was -29 for the series, a series where we were -9 in total. We didn't play well when he was on the court.

As a fan, I’m disappointed that Jose isn’t playing bc he is fun to watch play. That being said, I also understand why others are playing over him.

Like you CP example. It’s easy to think that GTA got the best of CP bc of a few memorable moments; however, if you look at all of his minutes then you see what actually happened.
