Damn the nuggets really clutched it. Checked my phone in the 3rd quarter and wrote it off as a loss

NBA games missed vs team wins, graphed (thru 2/4 games)

the bigger the bubble, the more win-shares lost due to injury

The Pels have the tiebreaker over Portland. Blazers giving Memphis another loss isn’t a bad thing.

We own the tiebreaker over Portland. We sit at 4.5 right now from Memphis. They lose tonight and we beat OKC the Pels would be 3 games out of 8th.

Memphis wins and we beat the Thunder the Pels are 4.5 games out of 8th.

Which do you think is better?

Seems like you’re thinking short term, not long term

Just for heck’s sake can you include OKC and DAL?

Exactly.

Memphis is going to lose a slew of games the rest of the season due to their schedule difficulty. We already have the tiebreaker against Portland but Portland’s strength of schedule remaining is damn near close to ours. By rooting for the Blazers now will just make it more difficult for us to take the eighth seed down the line.

I think it's a crapshoot either way, but as another poster said, I'd root for Memphis if I had to pick one.

We got 2 more games vs Memphis(I think), plus their tougher SOS means they'll likely have a worst record from here on out than Portland.

Don't look at how far behind Memphis we are. Memphis' schedule is really tough, they've basically got their good record against all the shite teams. They will fall back and probably won't even factor into the playoff push. Portland's schedule is only slightly harder than ours. With 2 weeks to go it'll be Pels and Blazers for 8, might as well start pulling for them to lose now

It'll be pretty tough to make up 4.5 games and get enough of a lead to say Memphis will be clearly behind NOP and POR in just the next 2 weeks.

But to your point, MEM is 7-16 vs teams above .500 this season. That's not good. Pels aren't any better, but won't play nearly as many going forward.

Memphis is about to hit a freefall. Their schedule is about to get real serious.
