The comment was this board was the most left leaning (which is probably true). Everyone knows that the average TD poster leans right. Literally no one wants to see this board cluttered with political opinions, whether it’s from SVG or a random poster. Almost all of the political drive-by posts get little to no response from other posters, and normally have a pretty equal up/down vote ratio. What does get responses is the gasoline that gets poured on those political drive-by posts, calling everyone on this board “incels, trumpers, incest babies, etc.”
I’ll summarize:
-Everyone knows this whole website leans right.
-On a website that leans right, you’ll get right leaning opinions.
-Because this board leans right, right leaning drive-by posts almost universally get ignored, while left leaning posts will get attacked.
-Still, no one wants this board cluttered with politics.
-No one gives a shite about you pointing out “tribalism” and “dog-piling.”
-Every time you bitch about this stuff, you increase the politics on this board x10.
These are simple facts about every message board or social media platform in the history of the internet. Can we please stop polluting every thread with stupid shite like this, it’s fricking exhausting.

This is hardly dominating the board and it is appropriate to the topic. Van Gundy is a political operative. It is what he has been doing for years. You can't separate it from his other roles. So it influences people's opinions of him. He hates, ridicules and talks down people like me. So it goes both ways.
Hard to admit. But I'm glad he failed so quickly and spectacularly. Made it easy for us to move on.

If I was an admin, which would never happen in a billion years, I would not allow any political BS in any non-political thread on this board, from either side. Some topics, especially when you have a coach like SVG, its impossible to separate politics.
But I really dislike when actual basketball threads get derailed.

If im not mistaken here, this entire derail happened because three posters were incapable of ignoring WhySoSerious, than several more incapable of just laughing off my rather benign quip about how this board's supposed liberalness is rather absurd(which is being proven correct in real time lol).
There is a lot of "we are big babies that can't control our triggering, and we become bigger babies if you call us out, so you all need to let us have our tantrums in peace" energy going on.
So all this shite you all keep saying cuts both ways, if righties can't control their idiocy, it's not the lefties fault for calling that idiocy out or commentating back
If people don't like that pattern, seems like the obvious solution is to jump on the righties as much as people jump on the lefties when they let their politics spill over. And if a topic like SVG is going to get inherently political, one-side whining about "politics" comes off more like attempted censorship.
