And Dyson had a higher bball IQ at 17 y/o than most 23 y/o. People mature differently and feel the game differently. Theres a huge difference in defense vs offensive minded players, especially rookies.
Being lost on the court as a rookie has nothing to do with his abilities other than not being able to actually judge those abilities to the fullest.
Maturity meaning the game slowing down and getting to your spots. Most of his "bad play" so far has been from awareness and being out of position. Some people see lazy and I see more of nerves and confusion.

I am a bit taking aback by his inability to move with the ball. I realize it’s summer league, but he should at least be able to dribble a couple times without losing his handle

How are you taken aback? I swear some of you can’t evaluate basketball, did you not watch a single Maryland game? Guy is the definition of a player that does well at college level but struggles to transition to the nba. His game doesn’t fit the nba and to give up what we have is just absolutely mind blowing. Screaming this day 1 and screaming it now.

Disappointing considering what we gave up to get this asset.

Because every college player should be able to dribble a basketball

I've only been able to watch about half of the game, but yeah, nothing about the trade to get Queen made sense unless Queen was one of the top 6 players in the draft.
Needless to say, I'd say that the player evaluation of Queen by Troy Weaver was way off. Queen hasn't looked like the 23rd pick.
But I'm still not going to overreact to one summer league game, just like I'm not going to overreact the other way with Fears.
I remember how awesome NAW, Jaxson, and Didi looked in a certain summer league game in the past. Hell, even Hawkins looked incredible in a certain summer league game.

Everytime queen touches the ball, he turns it over

Fears looks awesome, can’t believe he doesn’t turn 19 until October. Also really liking Peavy, he can be a nice hustle wing off the bench this season

Man I cringed when they put that projected depth chart graphic up for the pelicans this year lol. This team is going to be BAD

NBA commissioner should have vetoed this trade. This was fricking criminal

We look meak. Which is on par. Hopefully we get in the lifting room more.

Yeah we’re gonna give you a top 3 pick next year. Trade was awful. Could’ve walked out of that draft with Fears, Peavy, whoever you picked at 23 and a top 3 pick next year but instead you blew it

He’s looking a little bettter the past few possessions.
Queen ain’t getting ANY minutes with defense like this

Queen looks like an undrafted FA that does not belong on the court in this game. He does not seem to put forth any effort on either end and appears out of shape and lazy. Very disappointing first impression. I hope he realizes he has to put in some level of effort in the NBA.

DQs had a much better 3rd as the focal point of the offense.

Most of his issues are coming off of posting up. His best possessions is when he's facing up. He's going to have to adjust his game and find what works.

Quinones seems way to full of himself to be as mediocre as he is.
Queen will settle in, I'm really not too concerned at this point. I'd be more worried it he was in the right spots and playing like shite.
