It's obvious Zion isn't in the shape he wants to be in and the reason was made obvious on the broadcast. But his athleticism is off the charts. He's going to be able to do anything on the court. He does need to work on his shot a little bit, but its not a massive overhaul like many trolls will claim. Fact is most kids have to work on their shot once they reach the top level, Zion is no different. But everything other than that is so much better than anyone else out there

His shot will have to get a lot quicker. Release is a bit low too. Vinson is a good shooting coach though. I think it will get there.

Probably has to do with the pace the Pelicans play at vs being in actual game shape. The Pelicans pacing is tough on anyone who walks through that door especially one who plays at 100% on every possession.

I’m far from some troll, as I think Zion’s absolute floor is probably borderline all star, and his ceiling is top 3 player, but I think his shot needs quite a lot of work.
We have the personnel to do it, and one of them is coaching the summer league, so I have hope, but there is A LOT that needs to be fixed, to the point it probably requires a full rebuild. Definitely more than AD’s needed.
But what is promising is that he’s already demonstrated from high school to college that he is capable of making drastic improvements, because from what I have read it was just awful before he got to Duke, and like has happened his whole career he just finds way to improve his game beyond people’s expectations.

No bro. He NEEDS A LOT OF WORK. He needs a lot of time. Getting a coach and chucking up a few dozen jumpers during practice won’t get it. During the off-season next year, he will have to decide between a) having all the money and taking trips with his boys, partying and b) getting a renowned shooting coach and taking 500+ jumpers a day.
