There's just zero reason to think this is who the Pels are.

There is no correlation in preseason standings vs end of season standings.
There actually is some correlation. If a team had more than 50 wins in the prior season, there is very little correlation between the preseason and the upcoming season, as contending teams aren’t playing their main guys as much and they probably aren’t going as hard.

But when it comes to mediocre teams and poor teams based on the prior year’s record, there is some correlation.

If the Pelicans were a contender the previous year, I wouldn’t be worried. But the fact that they were mediocre, and have shown poorly in preseason should be a bit concerning.

Mediocre due to injury, when Zion was healthy we were a top 3 team in the west.

- you forgot to add for the month of December when Zion played 20 something games. At one point the Jazz were a top 3 team in the west as well.

Not sure how confident I am that the data holds up playing around half as many games nowadays.

I totally get it. But I don’t allow myself to give a shite about preseason in the NBA or the NFL. I rarely watch any preseason.

We only had 15 games in December and we went 10-5.

I have more alarm bells with the Saints than the Pelicans to be honest. Any Pels bells would be for health than execution.

Good to see your bitch arse quitting on this team even before the season started. That’s even quicker than you quit on the LSU baseball team. Stay away.
