The issue is you're still, for reasons unknown, clinging to the idea that Zion and Griff's denial made it a "fact" that the piano story was BS. That really makes no sense at all.

Unless you think that Griff knows how to play the piano, but has never played it before for any person other than Zion, then the piano story, as told by Clark and especially by Jake, is not true.

If David Griffin knows how to play the piano, then someone else should be able to say that they have seen him play one.

Zion literally mentioned that Griffin had a keyboard with him in the bubble.

There is SOME level of truth to the story. Jake and Clark can only go with what they are told, and if they are told by two different people with knowledge then they go with it.

Something happened even if it was benign.

One of the sources is almost certain Uncle Al.

Oh, I absolutely agree that an uncomfortable social action occurred between Zion and David Griffin in the bubble that involved that keyboard that Griffin brought with him.

But David Griffin did not "play the piano to Zion to try to motivate him."

And if anyone cares, I wrote the title to this thread before I heard Zion's comment about the keyboard. I wouldn't have gone with "BS" if I had.

I actually low key like Crewz (nobody tell him!) Dudes a doucher but smart and knows his shite. And he’s entertaining lol.

There is really no comparison between a Crewz podcast and Jake's

One is incredible insightful and makes you think

The other could just be any hardcore fan with a webcam with his takes

That is ridiculous. Jake does a great job with his podcast, does it daily which is extremely difficult, and always has a ton of stats and so on on hand.

Crewz when he was doing it would ramble for an hour, 30 minutes of which had nothing to do with the Pelicans.

It's hard to come up with content for a daily pod, but like most locked on pods it's pretty surface level. That's good for people who value their time but the old school Mac and Schwan pod is still my favorite by a decent margin. Like Shamit and Mason too but for all the negative with Mac there was a lot of knowledge of the cap and I think some good analysis.

That is true but that pod came out like 3 times a year.

Why is a daily pod necessary? ($$$?)

Yeah Jake is actually enjoyable to listen to and attempts to do a bit of research.

Crewz was like the Griffin of podcasters, concerned mostly with projecting himself as the smartest man in the room. But when you tug on it just a little bit, it's not really adding much or bringing anything interesting to the table.

I mean money is obviously a factor, I think(think) the logic behind the Locked-On network is to fill the void of daily local sports shows, but catered specifically to a given team(and obviously having a podcast daily for every team in multiple sports is a solid money maker).

Makes sense during the season for the NBA when there are games, on average, every other day.

Also I think they go down to like 2 or 3 during the offseason. Which makes sense.

Appreciate the defense of me, but don't need it. My girlfriend is way hotter than whoever he is with, and she's quite accomplished too. Loyal listeners like him are why this, as my side hustle, pays more than being a high school football special teams coordinator.

Oof. I was wondering how a Pels Talk thread got to 10 pages but that'll do it. Just be grateful you posted this cringe shite on the least popular board on the site or else the flaming would be far worse.

Never heard of Jake Madison until this thread but he certainly has a high opinion of himself for having a podcast about a small market NBA team

So now Shamit is putting out an article through WDSU patting Clark on the back for his "reporting." Reading the article sounds like another blogger who has sour grapes with the organization. There are several references to "sources formerly with the team." I think it is becoming pretty obvious that the bloggers/media are upset that their sources are no longer there and maybe the team has limited their information now.

Are y'all mad that Zion's injury this summer wasn't disclosed when it happened? Shamit apparently thinks that you should be mad at some Zion/Griffin combo for not telling us when he broke his pinky toe.

I'm not mad about that at all. There was already enough completely bogus media talk about how bad our offseason was, because we didn't make some big splash trade. If the media had Zion's injury to talk about as well, this summer would have been absolutely miserable.

Zion and Griff did the right thing by keeping the injury hidden.

I agree those were the good ole days. Jake’s a bit too surface level for my taste. I never feel like I get any relevant analysis from him because of the high frequency/short term nature of his show.

Long form is the way to go.
