I like a couple of y'all ideas, bishops, cardinals, Voodoo, poboys..
Those are all legit but Krewe is the most fitting, it's simple, has meaning and represents Nola and SLA.
And I love the Mardi Gras unis if we can get them toned down. Like have a green uni, a gold uni and a purple set. But the numbers are to be gold with purple accents/striping/collar
O and let's sell the naming right to the New Orleans Arena to generate more revenue. We'll call it the Tabasco Center of New Orleans, with the Tabasco logo painted on top of the arena.

Everything about that SI article was awesome, except that it stirred up all this re-brand stuff again.
Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I seriously hate the "Krewe" idea. It has no relevance outside this market, and people would not even know what it means. The "Thunder" team name is terrible because it is so generic and safe. "Krewe" would be on the opposite end of the spectrum. It's so region-specific that it has zero appeal outside of LA and I think that'd be a detriment to the marketing of the team (read it's hokey and would get mocked league-wide). If we have to re-brand (I'd rather not personally, but if it helps the team, so be it) I agree that we need something that ties the team to the area, but I think we'd be better off with a name that someone who lives more than 60 miles away could actually define. For what it's worth I like "Brass" the best out of the suggestions here. Also, I love our colors and hope they are kept the same (or close). We have one of the more unique color schemes in professional sports and I don't want to see them pick something that's almost identical to the Jazz (that ship has sailed, it's over), or go with black and gold (please god no, there's enough jokers that think it's totally normal to show up to a Hornets game in a Saints jersey).

Frankly, so do I.
And I wouldn't lose any sleep if they didn't re-brand. But if it stirs up excitement in the local market, it may be worth it.
