Think the point he was making is that Zion is often in decent shape at the beginning of the year. When he gets injured and it’s only supposed to be a 4-6 week injury is when it goes wrong. That’s the adversity that is being referred to. When he gets injured, He binge eats and refuses to rehab properly. Leading to increased recovery times and more often than not, him getting shut down for an entire season.
Yeah, it’s just the very pessimistic stance to take. Going through adversity like he’s had to deal with at such a young age? It can change you. People need to give the dude a chance. It’s a new season. He’s done everything right by all accounts this off-season. Why put that shite in the air?
I get we’re cursed and all, but can we try to be a little optimistic again?

I suppose man. I can’t say I can blame people that have their spirits crushed about Zion and this team.
We have a lot of good fans here. We don’t deserve any of the nonsense we have been having to put up with. A lot of fans are just at a breaking point/zero expectation level.
Perhaps it’s pessimistic, but I think it’s also a defense mechanism from a heavily scarred fanbase.

Yeah but he already did 4 seasons, season 5 now. An NBA career isn't that long. He must play more of 30 games a season.

If he’s truly in as great of shape and has been working like everyone says he has, we’re wrecking the league this year.
I like the optimism but that a huuuuuge assertion

When hes healthy we are absolutely contenders. So yes that assertion is true.

Did you not see those small ball lineups las night with Z at the 5?

I don't want to take much away from last night because A) it was preseason, and B) the Magic are not a good team. BUT, I did like how BI and Zion had good production without really trying. Zion fought hard for rebounds, which he needs to do, but outside of that everything they did seemed pretty effortless.

being contenders, yes I agree. Wrecking the league is two different thngs. Wrecking the league is the 72-10 bulls. At least that's what wrecking an entire league means to me.

So wrecking the league is basically Jordan and the best team ever in NBA history for you? Yeah then technically you should never say to any player about wrecking the league if your standards are that high. Even lebron or giannis haven’t technically wrecked the league then.

exactly, to my point. I didnt start the thread.
At any rate, not interested in arguing semantics. Hopefully, the pelicans do "wreck" the league in the implied sense

Eh - 12 game improvement season over season, and a good young core, especially in the front court.
They still don't have a LEAD guard, but I think it's possible they sniff around the playoffs this year.
None of that analysis matters for a glorified scrimmage with better jerseys, though.
