Nothing that we already didn't know but hearing it from Shams makes it legit

The Warriors and Pelicans discussed a potential deal involving Kelly Oubre Jr., sources said. There isn’t traction as of yet. Like many conversations around this time, it is a scenario.

Kelly Oubre has been pretty damn bad so far but is an expiring contract, as is JJ...so I wouldn't totally understand that deal, if that was one.

I don't love this getting out there, but if Shams is saying it...we are shopping both, and actively.

Watch JJ remember how to shoot once he's traded haha. I would love to keep him here as a mentor for his work culture but I understand.

Lonzo can see the next exit out of here!

Sign me up. Especially if the pick is out a couple of years.

Yep, would fit into their TPE. Fills a need for them right away. Semi is a guy that I'd love as backup 3...can defend and shoots the 3 well in his limited opportunities and should be cheap as he hasn't had the chance to prove himself yet.

Also, would create a TPE ourselves.

Yeah, would not understand that one. At least JJ has been a good shooter. Oubre never has, but continues to heave up 3s even though he can't shoot. I would rather they just trade JJ for a future protected 1st if they could get it. Oubre doesn't do anything for us.

you probably move on from him in the summer, but if you can pick up a 2nd or two while clearing backcourt minutes, go for it

Lonzo developed as the Warriors new Shaun Livingston/Iggy is the sort of role that makes a ton of sense for Lonzo...And also the type of role that I think would have Pels fans pissed off in a few years because it would actually accentuate his skills and cover for a lot of his weaknesses.

But as a deal, yeah, unless you really are having some issues locker room wise with Lonzo, which there are zero indications, or the Warriors plan to attach a meaningful asset, not sure what the point of such a deal would be?

Oubre for Reddick frees up minutes for NAW/Kira.

Also, Oubre shot 35% last year. Same as Jrue. Can’t hit shite this year, but neither can JJ. But if neither of them are shooting well, Oubre is at least much better at other things.

At this point JJ’s greatest value is as a credible PR rep on behalf of SVG for the team to remain bought in. His play certainly ain’t doing it...

Give me a likely late first though and I think that’s fair game. You hopefully can turn that into decent role player or better with the right scouting.

even if he did, we aren’t making the playoffs. You’re trading him no matter what.

Yeah thinking about it I can see this. I'm kind of happy with any kind of value at this point for either. I'd like some picks involved but whatever.
