We’re not getting a dude next year in the first round at the 14th to 20th pick range that is likely to be better than Graham will be this year and next before Zions rookie deal ends…. so tell me how this wasn’t the right move?

We are so much better than we were a month ago it’s not even close. This is a playoff team sons.

I do think we got better as a TEAM this season.

JV, Murphy, Graham > Lonzo, Bledsoe, Adams

Add in improvements from NAW and we have things to look forward to for sure. We better not suck again though. We can't afford to

I’ll put five on it that we re playoffs for anyone who wants to bet with the caveat that BI and Zion play close to full seasons.

And we don’t have a failed retread with an antiquated philosophy for a head coach.

I think people don’t quite understand that we have two All stars on this team already

Same thing was said about the asset we gave up for Adams. It’s still an asset we could have held on to. I don’t mind the signing, it’s giving up the asset.

Unless those dollars can’t be tied up for 3 days because of what else is in the pipe. It doesn’t make sense.

You know it's not good when Jake Madison and Shamit are voicing their displeasure. They are usually pretty optimistic in their outlook.

We essentially traded Lonzo and a 1st for Graham, Sato, Temple and a 2nd.

it’s not like that at all. It’s like keeping Lonzo at an untenable number, losing him for nothing as an RFA, or carrying him through another season and losing him for nothing.

They are not like candy that you should just throw away. Ridiculous to give up a 1st in a S&T for a player like Graham.

I think other teams were after graham. I don't like giving up the first either.

If you are right, then that eases the pain, but it still doesn’t mean there weren’t better ways to accomplish this goal.

I like the Graham signing. Very cheap at 47mil over 4 years. Last season he was lost in the shuffle with Lamelo, Rozier, Monk, etc. Don’t forget that the year before he averaged 18ppg and 7.5 apg. Those are very good numbers. He can space the floor, and create some offense on his own. I have no problem with the Graham signing. However the Lonzo trade… not loving it. We were better off letting him walk and keeping the cap space. Sato should not (will not) be our starting point guard. What’s the point of getting him if you’re gonna just go get Graham? Now you have Kira, NAW, Graham, and Sato as your guards. We have not solved the point guard problem of last year AND we’ve gotten worse defensively at the guard spot. There need to be another move.

I agree. I don’t see why we would help Bulls sign Lonzo and take back their junk. Hopefully when it’s official that there was a missing piece in all of this.

Markannen to X and X to us.

Saw someone post that Graham shot 43.5% on catch and shoot threes last year. Ninth best out of 62 players who shot over a certain volume of threes.

No it’s not. They have plenty of picks. They’re getting a heavy rotation player. And in spots 14 plus that’s literally the best hope that you can have—- is drafting a heavy rotation player.

You seem to be having trouble grasping the logic here.

No one is saying they value this pick over Graham. We are all confused why it was necessary to have to use a pick to sign Graham. It makes no sense that we had to give up a pick to sign him. That’s not how free agency works.

He was restricted. The pick was to entice the Hornets to not match. We don't know how the negotiations went but I assume we tried to push seconds or to give them a TPE or to offer Gabriel and/or Iwundu. We could have potentially offered him outright if we were a space team, but don't think the Pels wanted to give up their exceptions as being a cap team.

We don't know that.

Either way, I'm not really judging this move until the totality of the off-season is complete.

No bad contracts right now and the deals can be expanded. I'll be a little more sour if this is it but I don't think it is. I'm not getting my hopes up, but current roster construction is very incomplete.
