I don't agree with that. Once Yao retired a rebuild was imminent. He has drafted well and made great trades to set the team up for what has happened.

Morey was taking a lot of heat as far as I can tell, although I don't follow Houston too closely. He had a long term plan in place that required a patient owner in a relatively impatient league. I'm not sure what there is to disagree about. I'm not trying to take away from Morey, more saying the owner's patience impressed me too.

Most teams would have fired Morey at least a year before he was able to start pulling his plan together.

Only people who would say this are clueless about the situation Morey inherited.

I said this another thread and didn't get a response (probably because of my newness). What about trading for Mozgov? Denver just signed Hickson. He made $3.1MM last season and is 7'1". I don't know much about his game, but would he fit? I'd assume Denver wouldn't want the whole farm (Ryno) in return.

I figured something like this might work for 2nd rounders but didn't realize he was an RFA, so Denver has some leverage.

Michael McNamara ?@McNamara247 5m

Trade that makes sense for both teams: Mozgov to Pelicans for Brian Roberts and Lance Thomas

Nugs GM Tim Connelly a fan of both those guys. Mosgov no role in Denver now, could get minutes here. Would put end to Asik rumors too #Bonus

@MichaelHJordan A 3 year, 11 mil deal would be fair for Mosgov. He is a RFA

Why would Denver want to lose Mozgov for essentially nothing?

Is there much of a trade market for him though? Who's left in the market for a $3-$5 million center besides the Pelicans? They supposedly want to trade Andre Miller, Roberts showed he can be a decent backup PG.

This is also the guy that gave a $25M contract to Jeremy Lin.

I guess.

He'd be a good get for us, and he's not going to get a lot of minutes with Denver. He'd probably get 20 minutes a game with us. Just need a big guy to take minutes, get rebounds, play some D.

Obviously I would do it if Denver would, but I feel like Denver would want more, especially to a Western Conference team.

Well worth it like mentioned in the article Bc it made the team good enough to make the playoffs to attract Dwight. Without Lin and asik signings houston would've been as attractive as Dallas to Howard.

You're counting your chickens before they hatch. Houston did make a huge jump from middling lottery team to middling playoff team, though.

You might have to cheap shot Westbrook again to do that.

I don't know how good of a defender he is (Mozgov), but like what's been said before we just need someone that's a big body to log 15-20 minutes and take pressure off of Davis. Another plus is that he's an adequate free throw shooter so you can have him there late if needed.
