Maybe not .
The most annoying answer...but also the most correct answer.

Zion looks slimmer than he's ever looked right now. Absolutely no worries about him not having stayed in shape. That part is fine.
The worry is why it takes his body so long to recover from things that others recover quicker from.

This sounds like bullshite that 2 guys on a podcast make up to draw listeners.

He was also suspended and fully healthy. It's hard to work on jump shots when you should avoid jumping.

It's a bit tricky, not sure it's 100% that his body takes longer.

The MCL thing his rookie year took a long time, but lots of whispers that he just wasn't in shape and that held him back, who knows.

But the past 2 seasons with the foot and now the hamstring, it wasn't just 1 injury and it took forever to come back. In both instances, he had setbacks. The tricky part is, you can't really say it's a pattern definitively that it's "his fault" he kept having setbacks because both of these injuries specifically are notorious for re-aggravating.

I believe KD had 2 or 3 surgeries on his foot for the same injury, and hamstrings aren't terribly rare to have a setback on.

What injury has he had that has taken longer to recover from? I think you'll find, statistically, that his recoveries haven't been unusual for the types of injuries he has had. Hamstrings and stress reactions are notoriously balky injuries that often take longer to heal than fans want.

KD is clearly overweight.

I mean not just whispers, go watch those highlights vs the spurs and in the bubble. He was huge vs the spurs played himself into better shape, then covid hit and came into the bubble enormous

KD requiring multiple surgeries while being skinny actually just further proves the point since Zion can't ever be that skinny, so not sure what you meant there.

Like what? Honest question, because it seems like we haven't invested nearly what we should.

Like the part where we gave him a max contract after playing about 35% of possible games his first three years?

(And he's on track to play........ 35% of the games this year)

Blood platelet therapy, cryotherapy, HGH. This would expedite the healing process by leaps and bounds.

Definitely not.
Until he proves otherwise, he acts like a 22 year old that got over a 100 million and is content being a fat slob laying on the couch eating Popeyes and Pizza.

Play Zion in playoffs even if he’s 50%
At this point might be only option to play in a playoff game
He’s likely to miss most of next season

I was being facetious. Foot injuries don't give a frick how heavy you are, as evidenced by KD. Same thing with hamstrings.

Nobody is saying that Zion wasn’t in great shape at the start of the seasons (which itself is an improvement). The issue with Zion is that he doesn’t maintain it and keeps his body in great shape throughout the season. That can be done by stretching, resting (not during the game), and rehabbing after games. That clearly hasn’t been done.

I'm not, but if I were thinking about trading Zion this is what I would make sure got circulated around.
