before I can answer that question, you need to tell me why you want Randle and your vision for the franchise. Is he a centerpiece? Is he a 6th man? Is he a stop-gap? is he trade-bait? etc

my answer to your question changes with each one

Do you honestly think that this poster has even considered any of these possibilities?

I mean he/she thinks that Randle will get a 5th year PO lol.

where exactly is a high usage 4 who gives you 5 assists and 4 turnovers per 100 possessions going to take you?
When he's also giving you 33 pts and 15 reb per 100 possessions? I'll take the good with the bad if we're talking about being in the $12mil/year range.

I'm thinking a little bit further than any other alternative.

But do you need a guy giving you 33 points per 100 if you have Jrue, Tatum, and Jarrett Culver or RJ Barrett or Cam Reddish on the roster? Don't you want them being the focal point of your offense? And if Randle is not getting the ball as much moving forward, then what is he doing to earn that 12-15 million? I'd rather have a low usage, defensive minded guy at half that cost (or less) in that scenario.

Or even Niko providing spacing and pairing better with a traditional rim protector. What does Randle give you if he's not scoring and if he's on the floor who's protecting the rim? I just don't see the fit with the Pels as a starter for Randle.

Reverse engineer it.

Let's assume Randle will be here. Okay, then assume Tatum and Jrue are your other core pieces. What would the other two guys on your starting/finishing lineup need to provide to both get the most out of Randle and not have him overlap too much?

I'd say Malcolm Brogden at guard and you would need a big who could protect the rim and hit the 3, but also be low usage for some reason. Dedmon kind of fits that. Maxi Kleber. Brook Lopez.

Bottom line is that it's rare. Or maybe you play Randle at center and just go get another SF/PF hybrid. But then you have no rim protection and guys like Towns, Embiid, etc go off for 50 against you.

I just don't see Randle as a long term piece because of all the gymnastics you have to do just to get the right roster around him.

Sure. Like I said, if he wants to come back on a short, team friendly deal, great. Even then, I'd be wary with a Tatum, i.e. quicker rebuild, deal. Much less so in a longer rebuild

Looking at him as a core piece, as laid out by ATL and Betonit, is foolish at this point.

And that's why I am fine with two years, even at a high price tag. I can't see regretting that deal. Worst case scenario he is an expiring the next summer. More likely, he puts up numbers next year and is a trade piece next February or the following year. By the time you trade him, our 2019 draft pick(s) is ready for a bigger role. But having Randle ensures you don't have to give the rook a big role immedy

Depends on who we get in a trade. But likely a stop-gap for a year or two, then a transition into a 6th man/match-up starter.

Basically our Andre Iguodala. But we would need to get a coach who could make him buy into that.

Obviously he will opt out of the 9 mil per season. How much is he worth? He has improved every season in the league. Has a PER of 21. Would a 5/80 with the 5th year a player option be worth it or will someone offer more?[URL https://filezilla.software/ https://downloader.vip/malwarebytes/ https://downloader.vip/rufus/
