Honestly if we stayed at 7 I would rather Luwawu than Brown... just for my hatred for Jaylen Brown

I honestly don't understand the love affair with Murray. What had he done that makes him seem even close to Buddy's level? Or Dunn's for that matter?

He's younger. Thats really what it comes down to.

People assume that because he did what he did as a freshman which is a lesser version of what Buddy did as a senior, that in X years Murray will have surpassed Hield and become a better pro. Which I think is flawed logic.

If Murray and Hield are both on the board I would take Hield.

Murray's ceiling is much higher than Hield. plus hes very young.

doesn't matter if he's young or not. You get Hield playing like that through his 2nd contract and you're just as happy as if it was Murray playing that way through his 2nd contract.

truthfully depends on who has the better chance of getting there.

How? I would say Hield's ceiling is Steph Curry. You think Murray's is higher than that? I just don't see it. Pels need a scorer someone who can take over a game. Buddy has shown he is that. Murray not so much. He has a much lower floor than Buddy Hield.

appreciate your enthusiasm but...

RE: the draft order, someone correct me. pels will pick 6th unless a team below them jumps into top 3, so worst is 7th?

then in round 2 they'll have two of 38/39/40?

Buddy would flourish as a spot up shooter for us in this offense.

I didn't say that was what he would be. I just haven't seen anything from Murray that tells me his cieling is as high as Hield's.

Also did you think there was any chance Steph would be the Steph he is now when coming out of college?

No one saw that, or anything close to what he is now.

I don't understand the love for Murray either. I simply don't want him at all. He feels like a bust to me. I don't see a high ceiling for him.
He's smaller than Hield. He isn't that quick. He isn't a good leaper. He can't create his own shot. He's not a good defender. He had more turnovers than assists in college. I saw somewhere that the only college players with similar or worst ast/to ratios that succeed in the NBA were Arenas and Bledsoe.

He is a great spot up shooter and a great shooter off the pick. He's basically JJ Redick at best.

If it's not Simmons/Ingram, give me Hield then give me Dunn. I do not want Dragan Bender at all, and i sure as shite don't want a Center this early. Jayln Brown and Jamal Murray would be picks i would not be happy with, but would take if Hield and Dunn aren't there. To be honest, i'd rather Luwawa or Valantine over Murray and Brown.

i don't think anybody thought he'd be as great as he has become, but i didn't think he would be bad.

it's easy to say things like this in hindsight.

he was and still is a bean pole. How he played in college wasn't that much different than Jimmer, although steph was better as a college player by a little bit. Neither of those two guys were thought of as players that would become great NBA players, despite both being drafted in the top 10. One looks like one of the best ever, and the other looks like he's barely good enough for the D-league.
