thinking about getting tix but don't feel like dropping five or ten grand out of savings for them, do they offer payment plans, or is it all required up front?

I doubt they're available on a payment plan. The whole point of them selling season tickets are to guarantee that the seats are sold.

They have smaller ticket packages. here

They absolutely have a payment plan. Up to I think 10 months or so? I'm not sure ours are usually covered before season starts but I don't think there's any interest or fees for using it either.

The whole point of the season tickets above all else is to guarantee your playoff tickets (which iirc also has a payment plan option). I'm hoping this is finally the year it pays off. I'll just settle for meaningful March and April games again. Those packages are great but unless you develop a great relationship with your rep, you're just in a pre sale line for playoff tickets. The STs guarantee your seats I think through the confrerence finals (definitely first two rounds) and a spot in the building for the NBA Finals. There are media and sponsor obligations for Finals games. Not that it matters much currently, but we all have our dreams...

Why not purchase a 10-20 game package? You probably won't goto all the games anyway. I'm sure you'll be able to purchase playoff tickets if you go this route as welll.

They have a payment plan. Interest free too.

I also have a question for season ticket holders, I heard a few mention that they were going to be able to make up most of the money through reselling their tickets for contenders like CLE and GS, how does that work exactly, do you go through NBA.com? I'm thinking about getting season tickets not for this upcoming year but the next.

I usually just sell them through the ticket exchange. I make back maybe half of the cost for my season tickets.

Season tickets really are a good deal, especially if we make the playoffs. One playoff series coupled with GS/Cleveland covers an entire season.

OT response: If you need to put the tickets on layaway do you really need them?

Serious response: why not pick whatever games you want and buy them on stub hub? Unless you are retired with no kids there is no way you will go to every game. Buy a few games on the floor. Those are a blast.

don't need to, but i almost died 2 years ago from a heart attack in my early 30's with zero health issues or family history. life changing shite. with no wife or kids, i enjoy spending all of my paycheck, outside of what i put into the 401k (just in case the ticker keeps going) on experiences that make me happy.

exactly, and living in Baton Rouge, some of those potential playoff games are going to be the night before work. I'm more interested in seeing how this team looks this year, i guess. Will probably go the weekend tix route this season and if we do make playoffs, try for season tix next year.

This.

I got a really good deal this year and will prob break even/make money while still being able to go to ~20+ games this year.

I just bought two of the $200 packages. Didn't care too much about the seat in the arena, just wanted to be there.

And they do offer monthly installments, but it had to be paid off by December I think?

I agree then. Go have fun. It's a fun experience but I couldn't commit to that many games.

What % per month?

I might do this, but get someone to go in with me. No way could I make every game.

Went in with 3 other guys this year on 2 seats. We were invoiced over 4 months and each of us paid a month.

We are going to draft the games, ends up being 10-11 each. So essentially we get to pick our own "12 game" package and are guaranteed playoff tickets.

I like that idea a lot. I live in lafayette so I'd have to do something similar. Also going back to school will make it difficult for most week day games.

Whatever year you get your tickets for, the payment will be due by November. You'll have 3 months to pay if you decide to opt in this year. If you like the way the season is going and you opt in for 18' - 19' (in February '18) then you'll be due next November 2018 and will have 10 months to pay

If you do decide to get tickets, make sure you ask STH on here about their ticket rep so you can have someone that other people trust.
