At the end of the year, PTAO will stand for Pelicans Theory of Always Outscoring.

Garrett Temple in 1098 minutes played last year had a -17.9 On/Off (-14.1 On). That means for every 100 poss that he was on the court; the Pelicans were being outscored by 14.1 pts/100 but when he was off they were outscoring teams by 3.8 pts/100.

per a twitterer

pels are going to be much better by subtracting temple and graham minutes for zion/jose/murphy minutes

50 should be the goal. This team should be fighting their asses off for a top 4 seed.

Team has the tools and talent to win 50+ that's for sure.

Stephen A would still shite on em if they won 60.

they only get a few preseason games to work out several issues. with perfect health yes 4th is conceivable but due to so many parts to figure out 47 wins would be my guess. it's not that they are bad. there some teams that are better.
examples:
kahwi is back.
gsw is 100% healthy.
suns are healthy and the fool owner is going away.

that's a likely top 3 in some order.
to get a top 4 pels must come out of gate cooking.

you expect them to hit on all cylinders day1?
gsw and Suns will cook day1. it may take 6 or 8 games for prime kahwi to show up but when he does they are tier 1 from that game.

Denver may have all starters or all but one ready. if all play they certainly will challenge for a top 4 home series.

memphis without Jj jr for 20+ games.
will miss slo mo defense and positional versatility.
probably 6th. neither first round rookie is ready for rotation minutes. g league for them. if all goes well for Jj jr and morant knee and bane disk-back they can be 5th or 6th. if morant has knee issue 10 games while Jj jr out they will be a play in team.

don't know what to make of Mavs. mid pack 4 to 6 of west. 4th not out of
question if kahwi only plays half the games until playoffs.
