Some of y'all motherfrickers are mentioning potential candidates without linking your source. Do it here.

Sam Cassell pissed he missed out on the clippers job. But it is probably Ime Udoka coming here

Would be pretty pumped to have Udoka here as lead assistant.

Dan Craig to the Clippers, expected to join Chauncey Billups, Kenny Atkinson and Larry Drew. Lots of names off the board, none we were really expecting for the Pels though.

Can confirm that Heat assistant coach Dan Craig has left to take a job as an assistant coach with the LA Clippers, per source. Clippers offered more money and he hopes this becomes pathway to becoming head coach somewhere eventually, per source.

Here @flasportsbuzz of the Miami Herald confirms Dan Craig is Clipper-bound

The expectation in NBA coaching circles is that Kenny Atkinson and Chauncey Billups will also strike deals to join Ty Lue's first Clippers staff along with former Hawks/Bucks/Cavaliers coach Larry Drew

Jesus Christ.

Balmer must be backing up the Brinks truck to assemble that staff.

I need to see what the Rockets and Thunder do with their jobs. Want to see our assistants start to take shape.

It also likely means that Cassell will go elsewhere, right?

I'll take Sam here, in an instant.

I've seen speculation that Sam Cassell will end up in Philly with Doc.

That makes significantly more sense, yeah. I'm just sort of surprised that move hasn't happened yet. I guess he is waiting to see if he has a shot at Rockets or Thunder?

Clippers definitely aren't waiting and are going AFTER people. Balmer is in don't give a frick mode. Other owners will likely be going a bit cheap for the next 2 years, he doesn't need to.

Wow, what a staff!

Yeah, but don't forget that too many cooks spoil the broth. Sometimes, putting a bunch of big personalities together can backfire. It might work out in L.A., but I can definitely see that group ending up not fitting together.

I mean none of the people named are known to have confrontational egos.

Not gonna lie, it's an incredibly impressive staff.

Many on here were ready to hand the keys to Dan Craig, the quintessential hard work story and company man from a top organization, or Atkinson, known as the hard-working player developer that got a raw deal in Brooklyn. Then throw in Billups, who was a brilliant top IQ player and has that ability and credibility to relate to players, now getting the chance to come in with some highly respected assistants/coaches to learn the ropes.

I think if SVG had announced this staff the board would have lost its collective shite in a good way. I know I would have.

Stan Van Gundy said his coaching staff isn't finalized yet. Said he's working through that with David Griffin and the rest of the front office staff. Said they don't have anything ready to announced but are "moving along" on that front.

He also joked that he would need to have a staff in place soon because the way the league is going they could start training camp on Monday.

I doubt we will have to wait too long judging from other vacancies filling the staffs pretty quick.

Nate McMillan was just on NBA Radio saying he wants to get back on the sidelines, whether that's in the lead chair or as an assistant.

He is a defensive guru also, his son coaches here (and just had a baby). I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see him as one of the assistants.

Sam Cassell to the Sixers

Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach Sam Cassell will be added to Doc Rivers’ staff with the #Sixers, according to sources. That was the expectation if he didn’t get a head-coaching gig. LINK

That was expected

Yeah that should be expected.

I think we will see a mix of younger and older. I think we get Udoka and possibly Lee. I think we retain Vinson. Bob Beyer rejoins SVG. Maybe an ex player we don’t expect.

One domino down, just waiting on OKC now (hurry the frick up)

quote:

Dallas Mavericks assistant Stephen Silas is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach of the Houston Rockets, sources tell ESPN.

On another note, this is definitely a cost saving move. We need to go after Covington now.
