Could legit be 7-1 or 6-2 had we not thrown away those first 3 games. We’re starting to figure it out.
We definitely could have won any, if not all, of those first three games. But we also could have easily lost tonight against a terrible team that was absolutely awful in the first half (of course so were we). Obviously you need to win games where you don’t play your best (or even ok), but our inability to close games is just so concerning. But it’s nice to pull this one out.

So... sad question to ask...
When was the last time the Pelicans were .500 or better after 8 or more games into the season?

Tonight was a good example of a trap example. They clawed out a win that they would have rarely done in the last 8 years. These type of wins are part of the progression.

Agreed on riding DQ too long. Once they started doubling and tripling, he’s gotta get the ball out and find the open guy or force the defense to reset. But he’s young, and that growth takes time.
And I’m going to keep bitching about DM - despite his + game. We don’t even go to overtime if he just gives Z an ally on the fast break instead of driving into two defenders trying to make a circus layup. Fricking hero ball has bitten, and will continue to be the hardest bite, to this team.

Queen was the biggest revelation in this game, but they showed grit and heart in OT on both sides of the court.

Terrible until end of third. Turn the ball over at a crucial time and somehow after that, started balling and attacking the paint. Was also pretty bad end of the fourth and overtime but we were overusing him. He stayed in too long and kept isoing

So we’re just assuming a good pass, a made dunk, a foul against Utah and the successful and one free throw. Gotcha.
