The people that just want to dump him for anything need to be careful though.

We have nobody else that can guard on the perimeter or any other above average passers. We can't even get an entry pass in to Zion if Lonzo isn't in the game.

Trading Lonzo is likely a tanking move unless it's part of a bigger trade like for Beal. If the Pels go on a run here Griff might end up rethinking trading him now. But the problem is still the same, it's not that Lonzo is a bad player, it's that he's likely to get overpaid.

This was just a really well-played game from both teams.

Which is why using him in a Beal trade makes so much sense.

I was legit mad when Turner got his 5th, I wanted him in the game as long as possible. They play us so much better when he's on the bench.

Free Kira to see if he can be this above average passers and I think Beal will make defensive efforts at Pels....

Glad we were able to pull this one out. Indiana couldn't miss in the 4th. We played Holiday's screens terribly when he was on fire. We have to come up with a better final shot than "BI iso drive right midrange". It's our only play and teams know it. It always looks terrible and ends up being heavily contested.

I agree. But you can move an overpaid guy if you have to. Dumping him for scraps, like some want, does nothing for you.

Man, I wanted Garland. I was so disappointed when the trade was announced.

SVG just mentioned the ISO ball, something we gotta coach outta them. Ingram shoots better when the ball is moving from side to side.

That play by Lonzo was even better watching it again.

Adams was beat easily and Turner's dunking that if Lonzo doesn't leave TJ McJohnStockton at the 3 point line to help.

I think everybody else on the team stays with Mcconnell in that situation.

I mean if we are all starting to be honest with ourselves, trading Jrue was the first obvious signal that Griff does not see this as truly a win-now team yet. Despite whatever PR he is gonna put on it.

I think Lonzo is gonna need to still prove a lot more before the winds really do change directions. At least I hope.

As we saw with the Warriors, even dreadful players can go off or have streaks. Lonzo isn’t Oubre bad, but what Zo needs is consistency and a reigned in, smarter style of play on the offense. He’s shown it in the last few games, but we’ve seen throughout his career an inability to maintain it consistently.

Not sure if it was mentioned upthread, but one thing I thought was great and a good sign was the demeanor of the team during the delay to change the net and level the rim at the start of the 2nd half

The guys were in a great mood, smiling, laughing and joking around. Looked like a team. At one point Zion, Jackson and Hermangomez were really laughing about something.

Lamelo is already Hornets's go-to-guy (34 points)...
Like Magic Johnson, a tall PG with elite BBIQ...This kid will be hard to guard at East if he stays healthy...

I just realized that Ingram played over 38 minutes last night. I wonder how much he'll have left in the tank tonight.

That trade looks worse and worse each night.
