relatively applicable news here:

quote:

The NBA is expected to move up the start of its annual moratorium from midnight on July 1 to 6pm on June 30, sources told ESPN. The move will shift the league away from an antiquated system by allowing teams to start talking to players at a reasonable hour.

I pay little attention to basketball, but my young son is interested. How does Zion compare as a player to other recent number one overalls? Is this guy a once every ten years type player or just the clear number one for this year?

There hasn't been a prospect to receive this much hype since Anthony Davis, possibly even LeBron James

How did people in here know the Pelicans were in the top 4 based on what was going on before they announced the #1 pick?

only the top 4 spots are determined by the lottery, all other picks are determined by last season's results

like the Lakers would've been #11... and the only way their logo doesn't show up at 11 is if they got 1 of the top 4 spots... as soon as the T-Wolves logo popped out of the envelop at 11, that meant the Lakers had moved up into the top 4

same with the Pelicans when they didn't pop up after #10, #9, or #8 (8 was the Pelicans original position, 9 or 10 because of the Lakers & Grizzlies jumping into the top 4 behind them)

I watched this video.

LINK

I guess this wasn't what was shown on TV. Which is why I was confused. This is the actual draw. They announced #1 first.

correct... this wasn't shown on TV

only thing that was shown on TV was the post-lottery reveal of the draft order... which went 14 down to 5 (henceforth known as lottery losers)... then commercial break... then reveal of 4-1 (henceforth known as lottery winners)

frick the lakers but if we did trade with them, do you think we could flip lonzo to Phoenix for TJ warren or something like that? And draft White or Garland with #4?
