If it's over 2 pages on this board, it's real

2015 first round pick. There are conflicting reports on protections.

Are the Pels gonna try to sign any star to a max contract?

There's a reason the Rockets were seven points better per 100 possessions with him in the game than on the sidelines, according to NBA.com, and it's not because he's putting numbers on the board.

Awesome news to wake up to. First time seeing this trade.

It sure is gonna help AD to develop even more to have a legit 5 in the paint. Allowing AD to roam all over the baselines/wings and play defense, and stretch the offense out on the other end. Especially being that Asik is still a younger guy at 27. Im loving this.
The Pelicans might actually get a real superstar player to play here in the next couple of years with this solid core. (and the star we already have in AD)

Awesome news to see first thing waking up, but why trade a first rounder for a guy that was suppose to net you a first rounder to take?

I don't think the Rockets would package a 1st with Asik. He's too valuable. Patience worked out, Asik for Ryno were the rumors this time last year.
They'll have to put a few picks with Lin to get someone to take him though.

Answer me why the Pels keep trading their first round picks? This seems stupid. Is this tall white dude any good?
Posted on 6/26/14 at 7:29 am to The Sad Banana
With Asik and Davis, their opponents will never score within 10 feet of the basket.

yes, hes very good at what he does
They needed a rim protecting, rebounding big and Asik was probably the best available this summer.
as for the picks... Dell is obviously trying to build a roster of proven NBA guys around AD, rather than build through the draft... Theres more than 1 way to skin a cat. This way is a tad more expensive though
