In other cities they have been very difficult.

In NOLA the past two times they were incredibly easy.

Not many new arenas and we've never blacked out in the middle of the NBA finals.

Not too hard. However, all the good seats are reserved for NBA and sponsors. Available tickets were crappy tickets well into the upper level and ridiculously priced. I passed on them both times.

I saw pictures of Tom Benson having dinner with Silver a few days ago. Was wondering what that was about. Makes sense.

The folks around the office sound more confident than they did yesterday. There are some space issues (hotel rooms, convention space) that needs to be worked out (due to this being last minute, Mardi Gras, other convention business etc.), but everyone in the city will do what it takes to make this happen.

I am not a big fan of the NBA doing this to any city that has an NBA team.

But, oh well...

The NBA loved the New Orleans hosted All Star game and said they wanted to go back as soon as they could.

New Orleans is one of the only cities they is ready to put on these type of events on short notice. (That is what we do)

The NBA ASG brings celebrities from all walks of life to the city for a weekend.

Once they took a stand at all, this was going to be the outcome regardless of what they really want to do. The NBA doesn't want AS weekend to be about their decision to still host in Charlotte despite their "moral objections".

Not to mention the last time Silver took a stand like this franchise values practically doubled overnight.

Interesting, if NOLA gets this game, it will be our 3rd in last 10 years. The most since it began in 1951 is LA with 5 and then Boston with 4 (none since 1964).
