It is, but even if it’s just Heat propaganda, it says they expect a lot in return for Herro. It’s one of those situations where they probably value him more than the market does which says he won’t be traded.

We're in a perfect storm type situation where he could be shaken free.

I get it but it really sucks to see your fav all-time Pel leave.

Wendell Carter

Why do people think he's such a great fit next to Zion? I just looked at a few highlights and he looks like a slow, below the rim player. While the highlights showed him hitting some 3s, the stats say he's a 20% 3 point shooter and not really a good shooter away from the basket either. My first thought when seeing a slow, below the rim guy that could score was, how is he better than Jahlil Okafor on a cheap deal that didn't cost any assets to acquire?

I don't. I was trying to see a good deal we could do with them and i ultimately came to the decision that he's their best player asset, and i'm not interested in him.

I’m at a point where I don’t care too much about quantity. I just want the best possible player we can get in the trade and if we get some other assets out of it then great.

No. They call Kuzma trash, he is, then think he'll be the centerpiece of their trade packages.

Taking Fun Bunch's list from the first page:

Warriors - #2 and Minny pick
Nets - Levert
Sixers - Future picks?
Celtics - Jaylen Brown?
Heat - Maybe Herro but probably Duncan Robinson
Bucks - Bledsoe?
Raptors - Van Vleet S&T?
Nuggets - MPJ

Honestly I don't love the fit and/or talent level of a bunch of those players. Golden State picks or what can you flip MPJ or Levert for might be the best return. Basically who does Chicago value more, MPJ or Levert + Allen?

I was just spitballing contenders with that list. Lakers or Clippers don't have the assets so left them out.

Obviously we could send him to a non-contender up and coming team, or this could be a multi-team trade where pieces like Levert go elsewhere and useful players or picks come here.

If Hayes makes a huge leap in his development, Carter would just be a backup 4/5 who would make a good/great trade chip. Any deal with Chicago would be either Markennen or Carter, Mark has been a bit of a rebel and not much of a team player, so I go with Carter.

The main asset from Chicago would be #4 which I'm taking Killian Hayes with.

One thing that we shouldn't do is thing about the trade one-dimensionally:

In other words, even if you think a player like Carter doesn't fit long term...so? You can flip him later for value.

We should be looking for the highest level of compensation. Even if that player isn't a long term fit, we can always make it part of a multi-team trade or move him later down the line.

Exactly, get the best players/assets you can for future trade deals. Grabbing Carter and throwing him into a deal may tilt a trade in your favor if a Booker/Mitchell becomes available.

If we are trading Jrue, I'm not even sure we should be worrying too much about this next season.

We should be worrying about the best way to set us up for success for the 3 seasons after that.

Obviously they aren't giving up Tatum, and i have a really hard time believing they'd give up Jaylen Brown, but that's who i would want from them.

Jrue and #13 for Jaylen and #26.
I agree, there is no way they would give up Brown.

They'd offer Smart, Theis + picks + more salary

What salary? all they have is small stuff other than Hayward and Kemba.
The celtics are not going to absorb salary. It would be dumb for them to do that. They'd be a tax team, and there's no reason for them to be one next year.
A third team would have to be involved to absorb some salary in the deal, really some players b/c we don't want 4 players from them, 3 of them being salary fillers.

Even a Hayward/Smart trade for Jrue/Miller, we'd be taking on $15M and i'm not sure we can do that, as I don't think we have the cap space to make that uneven of a trade.

I like how the TradeNBA site has the salary numbers, but they need to incorporate the right cap holds, talking about BI mainly. Unless those kind of holds don't play into uneven trades in the offseason and you're just going buy what's on the books, which is $83M without any cap holds.

Yeah, I was having trouble coming up with anymore middling salary haha

I don't think Boston are really in play anyway, unless they offered Brown which is pretty unlikely

The amount of people of social media commenting ... ‘trade to the lakers... we’ll give you Kuz’ or some other silly sh1te...

They have literally no concept of how salary matching works.... or also how good Jrue is and how crap Kuz is *roll eye emoji thing*
