We all knew Gentry was a problem 5 years ago when he was hired. I can’t remember one person who said “boy that was a great hire.”

There is absolutely no excuse for this team to be this bad. Not one player on our roster makes winning plays consistently.

Ingram has shown that he can score in iso situations (which we kind of already knew) but he has shown no ability to contribute to winning consistently. Jrue has somehow regressed to the point where it is his worst season as a Pel. JJ and Josh Hart have shown that they can be good contributors on a winning team but their talents are going to waste here. Jaxon is “developing” but is no closer to making winning plays.

The point of nba basketball is to win games. We have now reached the point where we are getting further from winning games and not closer. I think this is why Kushner and Lopez are beginning to call for change. No one could have predicted this would have been this bad. Gentry has lost this group. Something has to change or we are going to waste the next 50 games.

Griffin is holding on to the legs of Zion like JVG holding onto Alonzo Mourning.

He desperately wants to see Zion before he does anything drastic. I think it’s understandable but the exact wrong approach.

He needs to fire him now so Zion is never subjected to him.

Is the whole point of this thread that if they fire Gentry this team will magically become good? It is a super young team with parts that don't fit together. Its supposed to lose. Having all of these high priced vets and guys on expiring contracts is just making people anxious. We need to empty the cupboard and play the young guys. Favors, Redick, Holiday and even Ingram (if the team isn't giving him the max) need to go.

All that said, Gentry is a lame duck. I wouldn't be opposed to letting him go and letting an assistant have a run. Build up some experience and have a bit of a fresh start. Could be fun. But some of the sour pusses need to go first..

I don’t what Josh Hart you watch, but it’s not the same guy who is afraid to penetrate, defers to Kenrich Williams and shoots 0-9 from 3P.
