For the people that think he's a "perfect fit" with Zion, who is guarding centers?

The centers on our team?

Brandon Ingram has played 52% SF and 37% PF since he’s been here - this is closer to how teams will use Chet

So lets talk Griffin. At the 8 spot ive seen at a few different spots and theyre projecting us taking him. Do you guys like Sharpe or Mathurian over Griffin if available?

I love both. Sharpe a little more but Mathurin is great too. Both super athletic and can score at will.

Yeah I think most of us will be fine with the top 4 players if we land a top 4 pick. I was just curious on yalls thoughts on the 8/9 pick which is a little more likely for us.

and who are the top 4 players?

i think the consensus is that Chet/Jabari/Paulo are top 3, although not everyone here would agree with that, but that is the consensus in nba mocks. Ivey is who i would assume is the 4th, but i think that spot will get a little more clearer after this week.

I like Griffin a lot, but his medicals are really important. I like Sharpe over him, but not Mathurin. Though they’re extremely close.

Nah I don't like griffin personally. Doesn't he have injury history? Also his release is too slow.

I like Griffin next after the big 3. I think he could sneak into the top 4 of the draft. He’s got more offensive game that he didn’t get to show at Duke

I have read some great things about Sharpe, but what are those here basing their like for him on? Has anyone seen him play?

I like Mathurin, but i don't think he'll be there at 8/9, nor Sharpe.

Someone who intrigues me that hasn't been talked about much here, and that i'd like to know more about is Malaki Branham. He shot over 40% from 3 and 83% from the FT line this freshman year at Ohio State.
6'5" with a 7' wingspan and has a very nice mid range game where he can get his shot off whenever he wants.
Finished at the rim at 70%.
Got better as the year went on, averaging 20ppg in the last 10 games against stiff competition, as opposed to the 6ppg he averaged over the first 10 games. averaged 11ppg over the middle 10 games (almost all B10 games)
turned 19 a few days ago.

quote:

Malaki is a hard-nosed guard/wing who brings great effort on the defensive end, on the boards, and has natural leadership abilities. He’s strong, athletic and plays with an edge.

He’s having a monster freshmen season for the Buckeyes and looks like a possible one and done first rounder.

Malaki is a highly efficient offensive player who can score from 3 levels. So far this season he’s hitting over 45% from 3pt land and nearly 50% from the field, which are sensational numbers for any player, let alone a freshman.

He’s got a deadly mid range game and really knows how to get his shot. He’s got tight handles and can break his man down with the dribble and get into the lane, where he rises up and hits difficult jumpers in traffic.

doesn't that sound like someone who fits this new culture we have?

i hadn't.
He's super young but you can see his skill set looks great, just needs a little refinement. He's not some explosive athlete like Ivey, but you can see a lot of Kris Middleton in his game and if he works on the little things to improve certain areas of his game i think he can be a really good player.

At 8-9 I kind of like Daniels or Sochan. We need more defense.

I like Brahmam a lot. He has some Jrue to his game, a little more scoring-oriented. You will get more scoring than ball handling, where Jrue is the opposite . I see some joe Johnson too, as another absolute best case scenario,

But he’s still young. Just made 19 two days ago. I think you have the opportunity to cash in on a guy that is flying under the radar a little, due to not being the best player on his team, due his age & development and not having flashy athleticism. Jrue was like this, Devin Booker.
