I can live with it. I am not sure if those picks would even be in the 40s and we are flush with 2nd rounders in general right now + this was for a major need

I guess you don’t know how waiver works. Here’s a context to it.

Apparently I do.
yes, the only way the Pels would have gotten him is via trade.
But the Jazz needed him off their team and the only way the Jazz would have gotten something for him is also via trade; so while the Pels needed to trade for him, the Jazz needed a trade as well. Meet in the middle at 2 seconds.

They are the Warrior's 2nd's so who knows, but it's unlikely they are even in the 40's.

I hate to say it, but they could end up pretty solid picks with how that team is quickly trending.

...Not that I wouldn't do that deal 10 times out of 10 still.

Yeah they could, but this is a good move to show the direction of the team next season. The league will be on notice with the pelicans winning 45 games or so next year. Fact.

I'm not gonna proclaim wins, but this is the most balanced and solid unit this franchise has perhaps ever put on the floor.

It lacks the elite upper end talent, but unlike most other blue collar teams this core has tremendous upside with Zion, Ingram, Ball, Hayes, NAW, and even Jrue a little bit still.

They are second rounders regardless. They aren't going to be good picks. We basically traded #39 this year for Favors. DOn't see how anyone could be upset with that.

There's all star potential there, it's just a very young core which in a rebuild is exactly what you need. I like the guys we have not just on the court but in the locker room. I can see this being a good group to play together without any bad apples.

D-Lo is an all-star by technicality, Klay will miss most of the season, Green has greatly benefitted from the elite talent around him(seeing him try and be Green without 4 elite players around him exposed this). Curry is legit but the fit without Klay is ugly, with little depth, and the team is pretty locked for the foreseeable future. With Curry going into his mid 30's soon.

Curry

Thats all that matters. He will get them to the playoffs by himself.

What does Klay missing a little over half the season have anything to do with the value of the 2021 pick? He’ll be much healthier by then.

Most deep for sure

Dell could find a good bargain or end of bench find but could really never build actual depth. Even guys on the bubble atm would be playing major minutes on most of dells rosters.
