If they haven't missed a deadline, I could see them waving both Babbitt and Withey's unguaranteed contracts to open up roster spots. Withey for Young and Babbitt for another wing like Fells or Wes Johnson or Hamilton.

Why the hell would we start EG? Start Tyreke at the 2 and then bring EG's terrible arse off the bench.

I would. It's not like he needs to play more than 15-20 MPG. You can sub Evans in at the 6 or 7 minute mark. You could bring Anderson in with him too and have the Finishing 5 for a few minutes in the first.

McNamara had a nice article on potential rotations.

I would think so, and I don't have a problem with it. That gives you 4 shooters to cover Asik on offense and Asik has a pretty good track record of covering teammates on defense.

Yea, i just hope we get the 18/5/5 Reke again. although as long as Monty is giving me atleast 30MPG he should be ok.

I'm willing to bet that Gordon still starts. The plan has been all along, when the whole team is healthy, to play Anderson and Tyreke together.

You need Gordon to start, and we really need him to produce and be healthy. It's hard to find teams to trade for him, and his awful contract if there is no perceived value.

I think the big change will come in how he uses Evans from the 3 spot. After watching him as a starting 2, he will have him running the offense as opposed to watching Robert/Rivers dribble around for 18 seconds a good bit of the time

ETA: And the minutes I think Monty can feel more comfortable w/ Evans at the 3 knowing Asik can protect the rim and clean the glass at an elite level

I remember watching him play in his last game in NOLA. Shitty first half but played great in the second. Only reason the team even stayed on the floor.

I wince at the name "Jimmer" tho.

Big caveat with that graph is that he played all of 519 minutes in 49 games last year. He can shoot, but small sample size alert.

He shot 227 fgs with 84 3pta last year. Not the greatest sample but its legit enough to work with, especially given his solid numbers in previous season.

You bring up a valid point in your next question. Morrow had trouble finding the court in basically the same spot/role in the previous season until the back end.

Eta: overall I'm happy with how the roster is shaking out. We are a playoff team if healthy. If AD takes another big leap we may win a round or 2.

I want to see what he can do against real NBA competition. He is shooting over 50% from 3 on a decent amount of attempts.

Is miller's contract guaranteed? you would think Fells has earned a chance to battle it out for a roster spot in training camp.

Certainly. He can shoot (career 40% from deep on 400+ 3PA) but just want to make sure people understand 47% is not something to expect. That's an absurd rate for guys like Curry and Korver. If Jimmer gets to take 2-3 a game and hits them even at 37% or 38%, that will be good enough.

I agree. I'd like to see another wing or two added to balance out the roster a bit for matchups in the playoffs, but not that huge a deal. The roster is good enough to win 50+ games. All about putting the pieces together now.

As far as shooting skills, I'm not sure he is that far off from those guys.
