This one isn't bad, the Lowry and Hardaway leaks aren't great looks though

Lowry was always going to Miami. It’s a better destination and they were just in the finals. And they payed way more than I thought they would have to.

At least we drove up the prices for these guys. They will all be really bad contracts by the end.

Hated New Orleans with a passion and was never coming back here. We could have offered him $200 mil and he would have turned it down and part of that is because of all the bridges he burned when he left on his way out.

I wouldn't get to upset over this one, Phoenix likely gave him the 4th year (that we couldn't offer due to the over 38 rule), to beat our offer.

CP3's last 1 and a half years are un-guaranteed, so this is definitely not the case

Honestly, who else are we going to be able to spend the money on who's a needle mover?

CP3 will still be good for at least 2 more years

Everyone wants to save money for someone super good and young, but who is that?

Realistically.

And if someone great comes along, why will we be able to beat everyone else for their signature?

This offseason proves that players would rather live on the street than come here

We have to overpay for anyone. Sooner everyone accepts that, the better you will feel

We're also a bees dick away from losing Zion, counting against all rational decisions

Cleveland and New Orleans have virtually the same population. I think NOLA may actually have a few more people

Do you really think players went to the Cavs to live in Cleveland? Or could it be they had a generational player who other players knew could carry them to the Finals.

that is what depresses me so much. Not that we aren't signing anyone, but that we are throwing money at everyone and no one is taking it. It is not like we are a 10 win team. Any of those guys could take more money to come play with Zion and Ingram, and every single one said no.

Traded our best pieces for cap space that we can’t even give away. Don’t say Griffin’s an idiot because most of y’all had the same “plan”.

Nobody worth a frick is coming here to play unless they’re traded here. They’re not staying unless we win. Only players who would come here even if we overpaid them are players who aren’t concerned w winning.

I think this is the part where we minimize every player that declined to use us as a paid vacation destination to make ourselves feel better about the fact that nobody will come here to play.

It’s literally not going to happen and

You can’t offer anything over the max & the max is not enough to get an impact player to come here. Best you’ll get with this plan is Spencer Dinwiddie. You may get Malcolm Brogdon who’s everybody’s favorite player here but I hate to tell you he won’t lead us anywhere. 7 seed 1st rd exit tops which won’t be enough to keep Zion or Ingram.

Of course not, did you even read what I was responding to?

Whether LBJ lives there or not, Cleveland isn’t a big market. Not taking up for Griff, just correcting a fact

That sounds good until you realize no one wants to come here. Chris is actually a guy that likes New Orleans. He was probably our best hope. If he would’ve won the title with Phoenix, he might have very well come over here to finish his career where he started it.

Probably because most around the league don't consider Ingram a true superstar. Just because you make $35M doesn't make you Kawhi Leonard.

I’m glad we didn’t overpay for an aging PG or a C.

CP3 would have been fun but I don’t have a problem with what we did.

I know you hate the guy personally, but he is a good player and he’s one of the few players in the league that wouldn’t mind actually playing in New Orleans.

I wonder what the prices on the River Place condos have done since he moved away. Seems like living there again and finishing his career where he started it would have been tempting. And it’s not like Phoenix has a shot to repeat as West champs - that was a 1 in 100 scenario

Here is a breakdown on the Chris Paul contract in Phoenix.

??$75M of the $120M is guaranteed.
??Year 3 is $15.8M and Year 4 is $0. Both years have trigger dates.
??$30M, $28.4M, $30.8M and $30M

As a result of this contract, Phoenix will not be in the luxury tax this season.

CP3's deal with Phoenix is basically a 2/75, they just spread it out into 3 years
