What is your reasons why I should be excited about this year's team. And what to look forward to in buying my season tickets.

They doubled down on the fun and fast style they ended the season with by swapping out Boogie for Randle. Rondo will be missed off court but Payton will probably be better on court.

As far as points per game we should be ranked in the top five yeah?

Just looked it up and we were ranked number 3 in points per game, tied with raptors, last year. We averaged 1 more point per game after Demarcus got hurt, Jan 26, until the end of the season and ranked number 2 during that time. It’s safe to say we will be playing a similar type of game and pace with the new additions/loss of Rondo. So yes, it’s is more likely than not we will rank in top five of scoring and it’s very unlikely Gentry changes his style of coaching to abandon the fast pace. You will see a similar product this year as you did the second half of last year. That will be exciting.

Also, the Pels do put on a pretty good show and I’ve never had a bad time I’ve gone to a game(excluding some end results) so pull the trigger and get tickets again. Enjoy and see you out there.

I love the Saints and Pels equally but I honestly enjoy going to Pels games more. Less bullshite with parking, less people to deal with, and it’s a faster game.

I think that’s the general debate for me between the NFL and NBA right now. NBA’s product is so good with far less bullshite.

As someone who doesn’t drink anymore (it’s a one way ticket to a full on migraine as I’ve aged...not worth it), it’s Pels by a landslide. Saints games were a blast when I could burn a couple hours pre gaming and maybe go somewhere after. They happen so infrequently that you can make a day of it. Sober SP is taking the Pels all day. Everything is so damn convenient.

To OP:

I’m not sure the Pels are a top 5 team. If Davis is healthy the entire season, I think they can be. I think Randle will have a great year here. He is a nice insurance policy for any minor dings. I said this in the other thread. Jrue Holiday is our biggest X factor going into the season. I referred to him needing to be that true 2nd banana to AD. If he can be that guy, I also think Evil Jrue can carry the ship if AD misses a few games. If healthy, which seems impossible on this team, I think we’re behind BOS, GSW, HOU, TOR, UTA, OKC. I do think we could take all but two of these in a 7 game series. Not saying we WOULD, but I think we could pull the upset.

Houston/Pels could be a really fun series. We need to avoid GSW until the WCF. Ariza was by far their best defender on Davis. I don’t see a replacement on that roster. That’s our only chance of making it further this year than we did last year. We just can’t faceplant this year. We have to dig deep and show we’re growing and on the cusp. These crap contracts are going to start coming off the books, and we’ll have options. New Demps/Ferry combo has me optimistic if we can ink Davis one more time.

for years I had season tix to both

my pels tix are about the same price as saints for better seats, 40 games instead of 8, easier to get in and out, 2.5 hrs instead of 4, more fun and much better in game experience. The NBA is the far superior live event

and yes I’m excited about the team this year based on the stretch run last year.
Davis at center has always been the answer and now we finally get to see a system where that is the focal point

the pieces around him finally make sense, there’s no major injuries to wait out, and Randle/niko/Payton are all playing for contracts

Some argue he’s behind Lebron for second best.

This is 100% correct. Payton is the much better player now, but Rondo's IQ and leadership will be badly missed.

Also 100% agree.

I’m one of those people who would argue he’s 2nd best! AD is a once in a generation type player, very fun to watch!

As far as game day experience goes, the NBA just puts on a better product

100%. The NBA product, at least here, is a superior product. I love football, but pelicans games are far more entertaining for me.

You should definitely get the tickets. It’s the best show in town.
