Why is it so hard for people to say, "maybe I was wrong. Cool, good to know"

You got multiple people giving factual info here and you just want to stand firm because you don't want to learn something. That's much worse than being wrong.

Ok, cool. You live in your world, while the rest of us see the benefits for the franchise. Enjoy "not being wrong"

Crewz,

We were already investing a ton into staff and facility upgrades.

You mentioned the arena yet are not furthering that discussion point.

What other practice facility upgrades are needed post this 800k expansion?

International Marketing investment? Ok, not arguing this but wooopy. Yes it'll help grow our brand so not arguing the positive impact and such but i'm talking about what other immediate tangible things will happen that wasn't already in the works prior to us winning the lotto?

eta: before you come back with another "you're such a dumb dick" response, i think my actual questions are fair.

I wouldn't call you dumb. Just stubborn and perhaps close minded.

Do I know the EXACT things they will spend on with increased budget? No, but I know the overall spending will be much higher than the universe in which they got the 7th pick.

If they doesn't excite you, cool. But don't misinform people and act as if you know for sure it won't move the needle

And say things like how the pelicans will now pour money into the arena. Cool.

Props to Gail and Tom for buying the Pels at less than 400 million...quite the appreciation of an asset in an insanely short amount of time.

Increased business value allows businesses access to more money, mainly banks. Basically an increase of value like this is like a future bet. They are speculating that getting Zion will lead to an increase in the value of the business, so the business can take out loans to try to reach or exceed their speculated value.

The business uses that money to reinvest in their business and thus further increase their productivity, their facilities, development...whatever. In the short term these reinvestments increase current revenue, easily covering the loan/interest and has the potential to further increase the business' overall value.

Basically an increase of business value this significant is like hitting the business lottery. If the reinvestments don't pan out, you cut back costs, but you use this opportunity to take your shot now.

Do not entertain him any further. He is not worth the time. It is clear that all of us worth a working brain know all this. No point trying to sway one stubborn person.
