Can this somehow give us the space to offer Ian Clark. If so, I'm on board.

Reggie "The Human Turnstile" Jackson
Look we have the two best big men in the NBA. Doesn't take a genius to figure out that you must surround them with shooters. Even Dwight Howard used to look unstoppable at times in Orlando in a similar system surrounded by shooters.
No to this clown. The fans that are excited about this are simply getting excited about the new shiny thing...something different...change. How about we add a few minor pieces, shooters, and run it back with improved chemistry and an offseason together. Resign Cousins after he sees the improvement even with the minor changes made and make something big happen next offseason.
This trade will cripple all the offseasons to come. Sorry but no one will be trading for Turnstile Jackson anytime soon.

It may be a way to push others to make a deal sure or this may be the best deal out there
I really haven't seen many times in the past where the Pels were said to be in trade discussions and the deal not got through
I'm willing to bet after the trade is annouced the next thing you'll hear is that we reached or "are in discussions to reach" a buyout with Asik.
Then you'll see the MLE, Cunningham re-signed, and one more trade w/pick if not moved already

Eh if we have to give up QPon aswell we better sign Clark or someone who can shoot

So one season like that and the guy is trash?
The problem with the run it back approach is the second the pels even semi stumble people will say they should've made a big move.

You're probably also looking at having to sign another big man as that would only leave AD/Boogie/Diallo. Maybe you bring back Jones on a minimum deal? Then Dante can also play some 4 in small ball lineups

May be cheaper than more.
My dream scenario right now is to split the MLE between Clark and Muhammad.
Use BAE and TPE on bigs if possible
Save pick for upgrade during season

Same thats why I'm hoping he turns it around. Atleast we know Demps is trying now so maybe we get something done

Ersan or Jerebko would be fantastic on this team IMO
Speights too

Definitely determined to be a joke of a franchise when you make crippling moves because you're concerned about "what people will say".

1. Not any national writer comments on this one. Just Scotto. Not say that he is not reliable.
2. Both teams send a signal. DET is shopping and is not going to ask much in return. NOP sends info to BRK and PHX.
Lets say we give up pick for Lin.
You will prefer to let him walk or sign him for 3/50 next year?

There is no right answer to this IMO. Just have to find the path with the least road blocks.
I like the Jackson route solely for keeping pick and because you'd technically have him one year less than Lin in total (unless he walks which I doubt Dell would allow)

I just don't see Detroit going through with this trade.
Not getting my hopes up yet.

13-14 - Reggie's Defensive RPM was 0.66. 9th amongst point guards. Pretty damn solid.
14-15 - Reggie's Defensive RPM was -1.10. 33rd amongst point guards
15-16 - Reggie's Defensive RPM was -1.82. 44th amongst point guards (out of 66). #357 in the NBA
16-17 - Reggie's Defensive RPM was -2.94. 78th out of 83 point guards.
This says nothing about his offense, simply saying his defense has been on the decline. For comparison, Tim Frazier, Quinn Cook, Austin Rivers, Darren Collison were all ahead of Jackson last season. The year before, guys like Ty Lawson and Brain Roberts were better in that category.

Just in a vacuum. You would rather have Jackson for 3 years or Lin for 1 with extension for 3 another. Around same money.
Both had health issues...

He'd be coming into a top 10 defense with darren erman at the helm. I doubt he would bring down the defense that much guarding the 4th or 5th worst option on offense.
