If someone had a gun to my head and I had to choose to watch one of the following three options; Reggie Jackson playing defense, Reggie Jackson shooting the basketball, or my parents having sex, I believe I would opt for the least painful route by just proceeding to gouge my eyes out with Jim Mcelwain's toothbrush...

Damn tell us how you really feel guy

Honestly that may have been ever so slightly over the top. However this is how I really feel...
On a team full of players who regressed year-over-year, Jackson was chief. His own regression was violent and abrupt, and his play was among the worst in the NBA among rotational players. Among all players with usage rates over 26 percent (Jackson’s was 26.4), he had the third-worst true shooting of 51 percent and third-worst effective field goal percentage at 46.8 percent.
It gets worse. Jackson had the fourth-worst on-court defensive rating among high-usage players, checking in at 110.5. He also had the worst offensive rating by almost two points, checking in at a woeful 101.7 points per 100 possessions. For context, only one team, the Los Angeles Lakers, had a worse defensive rating than Jackson’s 110.5. The Lakers had a defensive rating of 110.6. Only two teams, the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic, had worse offensive ratings than Jackson’s 101.7.
Jackson’s net rating of -8.8 is the worst in the NBA among all high-usage players. It was just a touch worse than D’Angelo Russell‘s -8.7 and a mile worse than Carmelo Anthony‘s -5. Of note, Jackson’s -8.8 net rating is 1.6 points worse than the Brooklyn Nets, the NBA’s worst team.*

Man. That didn't turn out nearly as funny as you were hoping for Les. Get em next time
Posted on 7/11/17 at 9:49 pm to Kennerkarl
Not as funny as paying Reggie Jackson 51 million dollars over the next 3 years to suck it up on the court and be a cancer in the locker room.
But, it was pretty funny.

I mean thats based off one bad year
Hes coming to a team with 3 stars and a really good defense
Hed be defending at worst their 4th option and his usage will be much lower than that.

We have two elite bigs...spacing is what we need. Not another guy on the court playing staters minutes who has never even had one average season shooting the three ball in his entire career.
The other difference between just holding on to Moore and Ajinca as opposed to acquiring Reggie is that it is much easier to move a 12 mil and/or a 5 mil guy compared to a 17 mil guy. Really limits roster flexibility moving forward.

Look I'm not saying I'm all against getting Reggie Jackson. The guy posted the 7th best offensive rating last season. So for as bad as his defense is, his offense is pretty solid. And maybe a change of scenery and pairing him with better teammates changes his game positively. I'm just looking at this guy as a whole because I think it's good to know what we are getting. Stats don't tell the full story, but they at least put you in the ballpark. If he does come to the Pels, obviously I'll be optimistic and cheer him on.
dude come on. be honest with yourself. he's been on the decline defensively. yes last year was his worst year but he wasn't great in the 2 years before that either. and coming to a team with good defenders around him doesn't change the fact that he himself is below average

He shot .359 last year while league average was .358. It was the best he's ever shot the 3, so he may not do it again, but he was average last year.

Where in the world are you getting that stat from lol

Do you all think his poor defense could be contributed to being on a poor defensive team as well? Or do you think he's crap regardless of his team?

Wow Holiday will be the third highest paid sg in the league with the trade.
If you rank him as a SG, he's probably 7-9 or so. And the only reason some of the SGs better than him are paid less is because they can't be paid more (rookie contract or they are paid the max that they could be when they signed).

The only way I would do this deal would Jackson and Tobias Harris for Moore, Ajinca, Hill and maybe a pick. Harris would provide shooting and more athleticism.
Posted on 7/11/17 at 10:11 pm to TigerinATL
Ok, I stand corrected on that point. He had an average year shooting the three last year.
Posted on 7/11/17 at 10:11 pm to Mystictiger
sure that could very well be the case. Or he could have had a really bad defensive year because of the injury.

Lol dude that's from the 15-16 season
Posted on 7/11/17 at 10:17 pm to Lesmilesdoesntfloss

Also that isn't "offensive rating". That is plus/minus...

You can scroll down on that link to see the offensive rating leaders....obviously no Turnstile Jackson...

Stan Van Gundy is smarter than Dell Demps. If Stan wants to do a trade with Dell I don't want to do it.
