You've been one of the bigger believers in Gentry's system, how does Cousins fit? Is Gentry going to have to change anything from 7 seconds or less, or is Cousins going to give Gentry new inspiration?

Not sure. But Cousins can shoot from 3 and pass/facilitate up top. That is huge. It should take some pressure off of Holiday to create and allow them to stop force feeding Davis in mid post/ISOs

Cant see them looking to run 7SSOL up and down, but would like to see more tempo in the half court.

If Gentry can't get more flow/ball movement out of this roster, he needs to hang em up.

That said- both Davis and Cousins are going to have to sacrifice some on offense to make it work.

Maybe a lesser load helps them both on defense?

Well my point is if we don't resign him, we would have given up our 2016 and 2017 1st round draft choices if we aren't protected in 2017. This will Definently hurt us in a few years without these 2 players along with Cousins!!

a sneaky part of this trade...ish smith helped dell get Demarcus cousins

so what's the rotation?

Holiday
Moore
casspi/hill/Cunningham
Davis
Cousins

Frazier
guard TBD
DMo
Jones (swap for a guard?)
casspi/hill/Cunningham

casspi can shoot and defend two positions especially if it's against bench players. Moore gets more minutes. Frazier gets way more minutes. Davis will still get center minutes when cousins sits. How many minutes for cousins without Davis? And who plays PF in that lineup?

I went from completely desultory to completely fascinated by this team in one day

Davis in ISO at the end of the clock has been gruesomely inefficient. Cousins can get you a bucket out of a late dump off much easier than Davis can. easy baskets make everything work better.

I wouldn't mind seeing cheick get 10 spot minutes here or there.

Not giving him up was a really part of this whole thing.

I doubt diallo plays this year at all
next year is when you bring him aboard, in asik's or ajinca's spot
right now they need a guard

speaking of guards and ish smith, he'd actually work well
let him bring the ball up with holiday and let holiday do some shooting

think you have to keep Davis or Cousins on the court all 48 (obviously). and you have to play each as the lone big when that happens (10-15 mpg).

Casspi/Hill/Cunningham isn't awful at 3/4. Casspi probably needs to be out there for Davis/Cousins combo just for shooting. but maybe you can get by with Hill/Cunningham going 5 out. also think you could throw Holiday at the 3 some w/ Frazier+Moore

definitely need another guard. curious to see if they'll really be needing another half court creator w/ Cousins or if they take a flyer on wing/3pt shooting a la Ennis

the nuggets running offense thru jokic has been fun to watch
cousins is an outstanding passer and must be defended outside the paint
Davis not as polished but he certainly has the tools

it could work...

If one of AD or Boogie aren't on the floor at all times I'll be totally floored.

BTW, you know Demps and the Pels are on point because SFP is back in the house.

Do you think Donatas could factor in?

He's a nice player, but i don't see why he would play much barring foul trouble or injury.

Maybe you try him out when Davis or Cousins sit, but v most benches there is no need for a slower big next to either guy. He would have to show a lot more on offense than we've seen to make that work for me

I'm sure in the near term DMo will be the first big off the bench assuming Jones gets dealt before the deadline

He's a good passer so that will help second unit especially if we can get another shooter or two to fit

Frazier probing and kicking or passing to DMo who kicks out to an open shooter would be good off the bench...defensively it may struggle but it only needs to hold water until the starters re-enter

David Fisher made a good case for staggering AD/BC. You get 20-24 MPG of Davis/Cousins together, you still get time for Davis at Center Small Ball, and the rest of the time

I think, at first, you need to play them together as much as you can to figure out fit. When it comes playoff time you want to stagger a little so that way they are fresh for crunch time

MM and Schwan were talking about that too.

But they kind of agreed that BoogieBrow getting time together is extremely important

If they both play 36 min, you can play them together 24 and have one on the court at all times. I think that would be how I would go but I wouldn't kill them if they played together 30 and there were 6 mins a game when neither was on

Good point.

Who comes off first? I would think Boogie so AD's usage isn't too far diminished.

for a lot of reasons i think AD stays in and cousins comes out first, at least in the near term. honestly, davis and cousins need to have some input/buy in on the rotation plan...

in any event, jones or cunningham in for cousins, then frazier in for moore pushing holiday to the 2. then sub for solo and put cousins in and davis out
