oh I agree...Chad was just completely wrong about Oden's injuries.

When is this sit down scheduled?
Posted on 7/15/13 at 7:02 pm to WhoDatPelican596
what are the chances we get him?

Greg is low risk high reward to all asking about this. Hell cost you pennies, and if he's healthy, we could potentially have a top 5 center. If not, big deal, well do what we were going to do before Greg was even mentioned
People are talking about trading useful players AND giving him over $2.5M. That is not cheap for one of the most broken down players in NBA history

exactly. it is high risk because he hss not shown any kind of sign of being able to compete at a high level. If he was relatively healthy, he'd go play with some pros and show that he is worth 5 mil a yaar +

I absolutely agree. Has he even worked out for a single "interested" team

too unhealthy to have knee surgery 18 months ago.
I'm not even sure if he can walk without a walker right now. My guess is he's broke and needs that extra few mill to buy a house. He fooled portland... I don't want him to fool us. A minimum deal to see the most talented C of the past decade stumble around would be worth it to me though.

I hope he doesn't blow out his knee while sitting down.

They like to play it at like 1 am when you fell asleep on your couch, too.

How is it high risk bc posters on here say they would give up assests? You honestly think we would give up important pieces for him? It's low risk bc we wouldn't pay him alot if he were to come and even if he did get injured it wouldn't cost us much and it would be a year or 2 tops. It's high reward bc he could end up being the center everyone thought he could be. I didn't realize somebody would have to explain that lol. Not a hard concept to grasp unless you just don't wanna grasp it.

Because there's a 99.9% chance that extra money goes down the shitter

You say high reward like it's a good chance, though. The chance that the "high reward" of Greg Oden becoming an elite center comes to fruition is about the same chance as the "high reward" that I win millions of dollars when I buy a lottery ticket.

And it won't cost us much if it doesn't happen. Hints the low risk!
Posted on 7/15/13 at 8:11 pm to LSU1SLU
Okay who would y'all rather get with the extra money? I'm sure their are a couple of stars we could get for cheap.

Whatever you want to call it,
At best: he can play a few games and be that rare player that doesn't play much then helps you win a series
Trust me though, he's not going to be playinh much during the regular season and there is a very high chance he totally fricks his knee up with the absence of cartilage

It is basically like drafting a guy with a boom or bust potential late in 1st round.

I read high reward as IF it hits, it can be great. I read low risk to mean IF it doesn't hit, it won't hurt that much.
To me, neither statement connotes an expectation, which would indicate which you think is more likely.
I agree that Oden, on this team with a 1y deal at $2m and change is low risk, high reward.
To me, it's a question of cost. It's also a matter of really how much we need to worry about this . . . long term, what difference does it make.
