Even SA probably wouldn't offer him that much playing time

The Pelicans really do seem to be offering the most of everything to him except contending. But do you think Dejuan Blair feels like a championship center? That article on Oden made it seem like money wouldn't be a primary factor, but he also said he didn't understand why people wanted his autograph for not playing, so he obviously didn't find much self worth in just being on an NBA roster.

Anybody else see ESPN today projecting our starting line up with Oden. It said at bottom *assuming we sign him. Maybe it's old but I hadn't seen it yet.

Is Oden looking to play more or be part of a contender with a more limited role?

Do we have any way to know how he is approaching the offseason decision?

If by "we' you mean the fans, no, we don't know shite about his mindset until he says something.

If you mean "we" as in the Pelicans and its front office, I'm pretty sure they have an idea.

We seem to be offering the most $$$ plus a starting position?

ETA: Odds of landing Oden ? 50/50

Brian Windhorst looks like a fat lesbian. They're acting as if we just started talking to Oden. It's pretty funny how little they care about what we do for the most part

LAS VEGAS -- The New Orleans Pelicans have not extended a contract offer to unrestricted free agent center Greg Oden yet, but they are expected to meet with him next week in Indianapolis, according to league sources Friday night.

The Pelicans are definitely interested in Oden, though, and were scheduled to meet with him this past Wednesday in Las Vegas, but the meeting was canceled after Oden returned home to Indianapolis.

Despite signing center Greg Stiemsma last week to a one year, $2.7 million contract and acquiring rookie center Jeff Withey in a recent trade from the Portland Trail Blazers, the Pelicans are apparently still in the market for a veteran center.

The Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics and the Sacramento Kings have all met with Oden and are prepared to offer him a contract. Sources say the Pelicans are willing to offer Oden a potential one-year deal, which would include incentive bonuses, that could raise the value of the contract to $3 million.

Oden hasn’t played in the NBA since 2009 because of numerous knee problems. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft, ahead of Oklahoma City Thunder All-Star Kevin Durant.

Oden, 7 feet, 285 pounds, has undergone five knee surgeries and played in only 82 games before the Trail Blazers released him in March 2012. Oden could be interested in the Pelicans because of his relationship with coach Monty Williams, who was an assistant with the Trail Blazers when Oden played.
