I think its also worth noting, a non injured Eric Gordon(i know) would be in Vegas this week too. Or at least in the team USA pipeline. He was there last year and played well for the team in 2010.

Colangelo said he was the best guard defender at the mini camp...and it all went downhill from there

I'm pretty sure that's not what he was doing here

comparing last year's 76ers squad to the current pels squad, not last year's

Exactly- thank you, fear. It would be pretty impossible for Jrue to dish assists this year to last year's team. I thought it was pretty obvious the comparison was 2012 76ers vs. 2013 Pelicans.

Go home quail, you're drunk.

he originally called the 2012 76ers a sorry team. i said we don't have room to make fun of that 2012 team because the 2012 hornets were just as, if not moreso, a sorry basketball team.

So Holiday only cares about assists

He CAN score though, that's the difference.

This article makes me feel pretty good about the future of Pelican's basketball.

A point guard who wants to set up scorers like EG, Evans, AD and Anderson? The horror....

ETA: Is Stephon Marbury available?

How did this happen:
quote:

rue Holiday catches an outlet pass, quickly dribbles into the frontcourt and sees Ryan Anderson spotted up at the three-point arc. As Holiday peers further up the floor, he glimpses Anthony Davis filling the lane and cutting to the front of the rim, for a potential alley oop.

It’s a scene fans inside the revamped New Orleans Arena may witness frequently during the upcoming 2013-14 NBA season, but also one that’s already taking place this week at the USA Basketball minicamp in Las Vegas.

If this happened:
quote:

Although Holiday, Anderson and Davis were unintentionally placed on different teams during Monday’s two simultaneous USA intrasquad scrimmages, they spent time chatting afterward.

Jrue made it happen.

quote:

“(One objective is) to mesh well with the (USA) team; obviously even more to mesh well with AD and Ryan, and Monty and Randy Ayers,” Holiday said.

Practice drills rather than during the scrimmage would be my guess.

Yeah, that's my guess too. It was just funny that way it was worded.

Finish reading the sentence, bro. But like TIA said, I'm sure they were on the same team during drills.

I really like that the coaches are there, too. I think it could help Monty come up with ways to work AD and Ryno off of each other.

Someone at BSS (McNamara or Madison) had a good post earlier this offseason on this, focusing particularly on a couple of sequences from a Lakers game late in the season that feature playing AD and Ryno off each other.

Monty will surprise people this year with his offense.
