LeBron injury and lottery in the bank

Pelicans

None of those picks OKC got will end up in the lottery, most of ours looks like they possibly will

Ball>SGA
Ingram>Gallo

Add in Hart, Redick, Favors, Hayes, NAW and dumping Hill (only reason we were able to get Redick/Favors), and we got the far better deal

I like Shai the most out of the players, but I feel we will end up with probably 2 really good picks. Clippers will be good for a while, Miami’s picks take a bit of a hit, too.

Short term: Clippers. They landed Kawhi and Paul George. They are the title favorites now and perhaps for the next couple of years

Long Term: Both teams did well. Better chance the Lakers fall apart because LeBron is getting older and they are not exactly a stable organization.

OKC haul is damn impressive though, with that Heat 2021 pick being really interesting. Also, Clips basically had to pay for George and Kawhi in the trade. Lakers just paid for Davis

I want to hope OKC is about to become the new Charlotte Bobcats, but their front office is far more competent than Michael Jordan.

I think our picks will end up being pretty good now towards the end when Lebron is old or gone. Same for okc, they have picks 6 years from now. Looking at it now, okc got the better haul because they had more leverage. They had to make that trade to get Kawhi or perhaps watch him go to the Lakers.

I broke it down in the other thread, but I’m not sure. To me, if I’m honest and take the rose colored glasses off:

- SGA >>> Ball

- Ingram greater than or equal to Gallo. Why?
We don’t know what Ingram’s long-term future is with the team. He could under perform and we decide that in a sparse FA where he gets a max type offer, we aren’t willing to match because we don’t believe in him...but his upside is much higher than Gallo, so greater than or equal.

- Nola picks > OKC picks. Why?
Just look at who runs the organization’s in question? Jerry West and Ballmer, Pat Riley, or Jeannie Buss, Rob Pelinka, and Klutch sports?

I’d say overall that falls on our side as of now.

Completely agree.

Now if Ingram and Ball can make a nice non lakers jump that’d be nice.

The #4 pick that we got from the Lakers is worth three picks at the end of the first round.

LeBron is 35, so the picks we got from the Lakers will be after he's no longer a dominant player. Kawhi is 28 and George is 29, so they will likely still be very good players in four years.

We got three young, talented players from the Lakers -- OKC got one from LAC (Gallo isn't young).

OKC got a great haul, but I prefer ours, especially because I expect the Clippers to be at least in the Western Conference Finals for the next four years.

Galo will likely end up moved. Dallas makes a lot of sense
