This. We aren’t trading for Dame. This is all leverage from Portland because our assets and/or Griff letting a team use us as a solid to get a solid in the future. Only way we could make this trade CJ Zion or BI which are all untouchable for their own reasons

I wonder if Gayle thinks making the play-in is the same as making the playoffs.

Honestly I think Gayle could care less. Part of the problem if you ask me.

A 6-8 year window of Zion/BI/Trey has a higher likelihood of winning a title than a Zion/Trey/Dame trio for 1-2 years.

How many does Dame have the past 2 years?

Hahahaga- according to who you???? Thats laughable.

I imagine any intelligent and rational NBA fan.
Dame isn't a #1 on a title team and never has been. He's not even the #1 on a playoff team, lately. The odds of us winning a title in 1-2 years with him (and without BI) is as close to 0 as you can get.
The Zion/BI/Trey core over a 3-4x period likely isn't over 50% but it's certainly above 0.

Is it above 0? Again you’re just making up stuff and acting like your not a biased pelicans fan but ok. Im not going to argue with someone who basis for their argument is well that’s what I think and every rational NBA fan thinks like me lol

Who has more playoff wins the past 2 years: Dame or BI?
What is the total difference between the 2 if we add 2021?

Do you think Dame's numbers will go up or down over the next 2-3 years? What about his defense? Better or worse?
You have to realize his decline in production is coming and whoever gets his contract will be vastly overpaying him for the majority of it.
If you had a healthy Zion and you already knew the team we have can't win together when healthy, ok take the risk and get Dame. You can't put all your eggs in a basket of an aging Dame and a rarely on the court Zion. You could cripple your franchise for the next 4 years if you did that.
BI just had one of his best seasons statistically in his career and is still only 25 years old. You can very easily assume he still has room to improve.

Lol blazers shut down Dame purposely last 2 years to lose dude.
Im sorry. Im letting this be. I don’t value BI to that degree sorry. Dame is one of the best players of our generation. The blazers literally said hes the best blazer ever. The dude scored 71 in a game last year and still played like an all star. I just cant help you if you think BI is or has potential to be better then that. I completely disagree.

Because he couldn't lead them to the playoffs.

Nobody is arguing that BI has the potential to match peak Dame, which was 4-5 years ago.
People are arguing that BI has much more potential (and a much lower cost) 2023-2028
Posted on 7/3/23 at 12:37 pm to SlowFlowPro
Ok simple question will show me where we disagree here. Do you think Dame in the next 2 years will be better than BI with a huge contract in the next 4 to 5 years? I will take the Dame in the next 1-2 years over that BI. Would like to hear your response.

It sounds like you're horrible at investing. 2 years to win a title then foot the bill and be in cap hell. Struggling to keep Trey Murphy.

I don't know if Dame is better than BI right now and playing on a good team in the playoffs after his recent hiatus will expose him.
Dame cannot play defense anymore.
Posted on 7/3/23 at 12:41 pm to whatiknowsofar
Sounds like you rather invest than try to contend now. And you rather invest in injury riddled asset like Zion?
Posted on 7/3/23 at 12:43 pm to SlowFlowPro
Dame never played defense to be honest. And see heres where we disagree. Dame is much much better than BI right now. I think any rational NBA fan will tell you that.
Posted on 7/3/23 at 12:47 pm to Pels_Yaz
I can ask you a similar either/or question.
If we keep either BI or Lillard, and the choice we make doesn't win a title, long-term, who is the more valuable piece to get assets to extend our window around Zion?
