But its ok we got CJ on a huge contract that cant get us past OKC in the play-in.

Portland went 33-49 last season.

Yes- we’ve never made the WCF. Stop acting like a month of great Zion means we’re winning the whole thing in 4 years. Thats idiotic.

Beal rotted away in washington and Dame is and has been much much better than Beal. Comparing Beal to Dame is an insult to Dame.

You want to throw our future away for 1, maybe 1.5 years of a WCF ceiling window?

And what has our ceiling been with Ingram?

I would much rather a 2-3 year (yes Dame will be at a very high level that long) championship contending window over being a play in team every year which is our current ceiling.

You have to get Portland to screw over Lillard. The package has to be too good to pass by.

Also the Miami package isn't poo. Herro is a borderline all star and I think he led the Heat in scoring last year. He just isn't a great fit for Portland. That doesn't make him garbage..

Idiotic and...a straw man.

Ingram is still young. Our ceiling is still high with him because of that.

Don't forget to factor in not extending Trey and doing all the other cost cutting measures we'd need to do once Dame is in year 3 making nearly $60mil with us.

So we screw over ourselves to screw over Lillard to get Liallard.

/insert I feel like I'm taking crazy pills gif

And if that's not what you are saying, then you are saying let's help out a western conference team by getting them a better deal with another team. fricking retarded.

Dame’s contract would have zero bearing on Trey. If Dame’s contract means we cannot extend Trey then you should be wanting to trade Ingram because his new deal will be right under what Dame’s is, which means you believe we cannot keep Trey no matter what we do, but I guarantee you if we have Dame expiring at 63 million and we have gone deep into the playoffs the previous 2 seasons, that tax bill would get paid.

Lol Dame is a multi all star, and primetime performer. The fact you think comparing Beal and Dame is the same, means you dont watch basketball other than the pelicans. Arguing with you is useless.

It'll be $10+mil less, so not "right under" but well under.

Only if you don't factor in what I said right above.

When you're factoring in Dame's $58 and $63 mil, are you factoring in a 35 and 36 year old Dame compared to a 27 year old Ingram for, again, $10+mil cheaper?

You mean when Ingram wasn’t playing and Zion was the one carrying the team?

Because Portland isn’t a threat for a few years and I fricking hate big market teams getting small market superstars for scraps.

Same reason I don’t like the Lakers or Knicks.

Lol you’re the same guy who argued we dont need to trade for Scoot because of financial reasons since we can just trade CJ when its time to extend Trey or we’re close to the cap. Now you’re arguing the opposite in not trading for Dame.

I didn't say that. I didn't say Dame would be a pure salary dump. But Dame's value ain't what it was 4-5 year ago, like Beal.

CJ $30 mli

Dame $63 mil

What point do you think you're trying to make here?

Ingram will be 29 when Dame is 36.

Steph has also shown a guard with their skillset will not have a decline in the late 30’s so this is moot.

Depends on what the salary cap comes in at, but Ingram’s next deal will be for 30% of the cap, Dame’s contract is 35%. 5% of the cap this year is around 6.5 million. And yes, 5% of the cap when talking max deals is right under.
