If we can make it to the second round this year, that is a successful season and our fans should be happy with that. That doesn't mean 2nd round is a success forever, but right now I think it is.

This I can understand as long as the understanding is this isn’t something to “enjoy” or be happy about it. Progress is important and not just be “happy” we made it to playoffs. Goal should be contending and hopefully the organization makes improvements after this season to get there.

Agreed.

I just found this article from January talking about OKC's lack of playoff experience. https://neilpaine.substack.com/p/the-oklahoma-city-thunder-are-rolling

Since 2002-03, when the playoffs expanded to the modern format of a best-of-seven series in all rounds, the average roster member of an NBA champion had 1,699 previous minutes of postseason experience. No champ checked in with less than 715 minutes of previous postseason experience on average — a distinction that belonged to the 2003-04 Detroit Pistons. And, at the same time, no team with under 100 minutes of average playoff experience advanced so far as the conference finals; the only such team to even win a series at all was the 2004-05 Washington Wizards, with their previous average experience of 78.1 playoff minutes.

The Pels are at 446.5 which is 9th worst in the NBA.

Our roster has almost zero playoff experience. It's hard to make a deep run in the playoffs without having been there before a few times.

I think it's easy to forget just how young this team is. Yes, it has veterans in CJ and JV but most of the main components are still developing their games. Zion is in his 5th season but has basically played barely over two-seasons worth of games. Herb, Trey, and Jose all in their third years. That is half of the playoff roster that is fairly inexperienced. BI has averaged 59 games/season. With that said, I certainly wouldn't be disappointed if they win one series and go out in the semis.

I think what scares me more is how this team performs in the clutch even against bad teams. Clutch regular season games is the closest you can get to playoff basketball and we have failed miserably at that. If the playoff game isn’t the pelicans blowing out their opponent, I don’t have much faith they’ll pull off the win.
