just getting in this thread, where's the iggy talk coming from?
247 sports. There were talks earlier in the summer about an Odom for Iggy trade too.

what does the current deal look like?
Paul for Gasol and Odom. That part seems done. After that it looks like Gasol will go to the Rockets for Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic. Odom and Ariza for Iggy, but there really hasn't been a lot of talk about this.

We dug our own grave when we didn't trade him last year. Period.
But if this trade is true, i dont know if we wouldve gotten much more last year.
We have a totally different team right now. One that i think still goes to the playoffs

Don't know about draft picks yet

Go look what Denver and Utah got for players who aren't as good as CP3.

The worst part is he went to the goddamned Lakers.
NEWFLASH: Hornets weren't going to beat the Lakers regardless. Anyone that watched that playoff series last year could see the disparity. Hornets are at least 4 years away from being legitimate contenders and that all depends on whether it gets some guys in the draft.
Hornets should be happy competing for a playoff spot and putting a young, exciting team on the floor. That will keep fans interested.

We need to get CP3 off of the Hornet's Talk logo on the home page of TD now.

My 3-way trade that would have landed us Westbrook, Ibaka, and Iggy is looking pretty good right now.

I am hesitant to say this but we may have gotten better with this deal. We arent scrambling for as many pieces. Lets just hope these guys don't turn out to be some Pejas and Poseys.

However, based on this one deal, its bad. The worst part is he went to the goddamned Lakers.
This is what gets me. I understand staying level-headed and seeing how all this plays out. But, there is an irrational side to being passionate about a team/sport, and my irrational side is fricking pissed off that I have to watch him play for THAT team, for THOSE fans. Worst-case scenario, from that angle.

Go look what Denver and Utah got for players who aren't as good as CP3.

This.
None of this matters. The hornets will never get past the lakers in the playoffs. Feel free to write that down and I'll gladly make bets.

Scola is better than West, to me.
CP3 made West

Can't really compare the two situations, especially considering Demps made it known he wanted to address this issue before training camps started and not have it play out during the year. Part of the deal is the price you pay in having it completed earlier.
Besides, all those other owners knew that Paul wanted out and also knew that Denver and Utah were seriously overpaid for their guy(s). They weren't going to make that same mistake.

I wouldve loved that deal. That was never an option though

I'm with you dude. I'd much rather have gotten westbrook for Paul than the garbage we got so far.
Jeez

There's going to be twice as many bandwagon Laker fans in the Arena from now on. Most of which will have tight fades, shants, and say "doobrah" a lot.
